The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

I would totally see a movie about Franken Berry or the Energizer Bunny.

That settles it. The cereal companies need to develop an MCU style continuity of movies starring their mascots, complete with Avengers style crossovers.

Why stop with cereal. In a world turned upside down and people failing to get along only one person has risen above it all and remained the coolest cat in the Bronx and his name is Chester Cheetah. When Captain Crunch goes missing while running for President, McGruff the Crime dog shows up needing his help to rescue him. Cheetah's childhood friend Trix the Rabbit is behind it. He is going to kill him if 3 oil tankers filled with Trix cereal isn't handed over to him by a certain time.

Parks and Rec is having a SCRIPTED reunion special... next week! It will be a fundraiser for food banks because in America you can get 5 trillion dollars if you are a corporation, but you can't even get food to hundreds of millions of starving people!

To me it actually sounds kind of fun. I mean the first movie is fun and the concept is simple enough that I don't see why they can do a different one with two more funny guys.

The thing about PTA (which I watched again at Christmas for the first time in 30 years & which is still hilarious) is that you don’t need to do a straight remake, just something in the same vein. Due Date, Tommy Boy and Nothing to Lose are other examples of the same sort of “mismatched road trip companions” comedy. Admittedly they’re nowhere near as good but but sometimes you’re better to remake a bad film than a good one. Or, in this case, just do another in the same genre.

Disney + will debut "The Right Stuff" tv series in October. This one sneaked under my radar. Caught the trailer for it yesterday. I love the movie (though it is WAY long), but I'd be interested to see what they do with it here. Not sure the series can beat the movie cast (which was perfect, IMHO), but we'll see.

I agree but he is still funny enough. I think it could work. It really depends on the chemistry between the actors.

They now need to reboot Riverdale and make it all old-fashioned and dorky again. Lets see something be de-edged for once!

Rivderdale Showrunner to spearhead Pretty Little Liars reboot.

Okay, now, I never watched a single episode of that show, and I don't think I'm in their demographic anyway, but ... The original show ended three years ago, and they're rebooting that?! That's faster than the Spider-Man movie franchise.

They're idiots.

So you say "Hey idiot, what idiot thing are you doing now?"

The first two seasons are really good, if you turn off your brain.

Its a TV version of "I know what you did last Summer"

Four teen heart throbs (They're in their 20s when it started, and their 30s when it finished) are being cyberstalked by a mysterious figure claiming to be their friend that they murdered last summer.
