"The Trouble with Tribbles" Line-by-Line

LURRY: Captain, may I speak to you a minute? (takes Kirk aside) Look, I don't want them here, but I don't have the authority to refuse.

Kirk: Well, I have the authority to act, so I'm going to use it.

Kirk walks back to Koloth

My dear Captain Koloth, you may indeed bring your men down on Shore Leave, but only 12 at a time. And I assure you, for every man you bring down here, I shall have one security guard. There'll be no trouble.

KOLOTH: Captain Kirk, there's been no formal declaration of hostilities between our two respective governments. So, naturally, our relationship will be a peaceful one.

Later in an Enterprise Rec Room, Scotty is at a computer monitor. Kirk and Spock enter.

Kirk: Another Technical journal, Scotty?

Uhura: Ah, oh Captain, well I hadn't intended to...but the Tribble had other plans.

SPOCK: (stroking a tribble) A most curious creature, Captain. Its trilling seems to have a tranquillising effect on the human nervous system. (stops stroking the tribble while looking embarrassed) Fortunately, of course, I am immune to its effect.

That was so Spock. :D

McCoy: Lieutenant, do you mind if I take of these down to the lab to see what makes it tick?
