The Time Tunnel

Watched it in its original run.

Loved it at the time. Must look into finding it for a relook.

ah, yes Irwin Allen...some of the best and worst, often in the same series! of old time TV!

THE TIME TUNNEL remains one of my best-loved TV series. I remember watching both STAR TREK and THE TIME TUNNEL premiering on two consecutive days back in 1966, and thinking that THE TIME TUNNEL was the better of the two.

Comparing "Rendezvous With Yesterday" (the Titanic story on THE TIME TUNNEL) with "The Man Trap", one can see that Irwin Allen's first show was perhaps a notch above Roddenberry's first tale.

As I've matured, I've come to realize that THE TIME TUNNEL at times could get rather silly - but the concept and the visual realization of the tunnel itself captivated me.

I was devastated when it was cancelled, and waited the bulk of my lifetime for something like the DVD set to be released.

I latched onto STAR TREK afterwards, enjoying it for these many years, but TIME TUNNEL remains a sentimental favorite.

For those watching the Hulu episodes, it appears to me that they've been taken straight from the excellent DVD masters.

Anyone remember that spoof Alexei Sayle did on his show? It was called something like Drunk In Time.
