Spoilers The supporting cast

I’ve been enjoying the show, but this last episode frustrated me.

ive been trying to be a good sport and patient and I don’t mind the plot’s slow build, but the supporting cast is giving me cliche vibes and I can’t stand it.

And the undercover bit reminded me of bad Star Trek humor (more TFF than TVH).

but I do have to admit that Rios and Raffi are getting better slowly.

Absolutely. He was a total wallflower this episode.

What they're going to do with him is totally unclear to me right now.

Narek is an odd customer. I'm not sure what to think of him as of yet.

One of my fears about the series long before we actually saw anything was that Picard was going to be stuck with a bunch of cliched, rag-tag, space misfits. Luckily, in my opinion, it didn't turn out to be the case....until we met Rios.

The character's whole introduction was exactly what I feared. We see him smoking a cigar with a piece of shrapnel sticking out of his arm. Ok, he's going to be the stereotypical badboy who's been in lots of trouble before. He's exactly the kind of character I'd expect to see in the Mos Eisley Cantina or someone that Quill would be at odds with in Guardians of the Galaxy.

The whole "JL" thing is annoying. It sounds a bit contrived, like "Hey look everyone! I know Picard well enough to call him by his initials!" It just doesn't sound natural.

I'm getting into Raffi and Rios moreso, especially Raffi after reading the book.

I find Narek and his sister a bit irritating, perhaps because the Cube plot right now is extremely slow.

The same way they completely turned the tables on Jurati, I'm expecting something interesting to happen with Rios.

I mentioned in earlier posts, the Raffi Picard relationship is given meat in the book and I'm finding it more accepting now than before i read it

Rios is cool. But I'm glad that they didn't bring back Okona. I guess Okona has lost his appeal these days..

And I'm glad that Rios didn't try to hit on Seven.... I guess he would have regretted it soon...

The cast are an aspect of the show I'm enjoying greatly, apart from the RomuTwins. The protagonist crew have a good chemistry, each brings something to the table, and the actors seem to be having a lot of fun.

Don't know that I'd call them "supporting cast," though. The show is named after Picard, but I'd classify them as an ensemble.

In my view, Rios has already risen above that intro in the couple of episodes since. Especially with Cabrera doing the holograms.

I'm loving the La Sirena crew. Rios is easily my favourite, but the others are great too. Might well be one of the best ensembles in all Star Trek. Definitely the best out of all the other ensembles when compared to where they were at in the fifth episode of their respective series.

I did like Picard’s two Romulan roommates. In fact, I love those two.

Maddox played by another actor=annoying.

I liked Raffi, liked her a little less this episode, but the character came back into interesting.

Rios is in the green but like I’ve mentioned before: he steers dangerously close to Han Solo Clone territory.

I love Narek so far. I like the modern take on Romulans and his acting/characterization is indicative of the positive aspects of the show.
