I think this is probably the best way to figure out the actual scale, as opposed to intended scales.

Another shot - not especially helpful for deciding scale/size

They just filled in the empty space around the turboshaftsWell remember the original crew complement was stated to be 203 by Pike himself in The Cage. It was suddenly doubled in all the later incarnations (430); but they really didn't do any changes to the scale of the model itself in 1966.
Could just be a "Senior Staff Lounge", an "Observation Lounge" or a "Forward Lounge" - perhaps even an "Officer's Mess"I wonder how many decks the ship has at this point. Should the lounge be called 4 Forward or 5 Forward?
Here's a question... if we're assuming the Enterprise is scaled up by roughly 50% to a length of 442m from the previously established length of 289m, and that's now the canonical design in-universe per Picard, does that mean we're scaling up all previous TOS/TNG/DS9/VOY ship designs by the same amount? I'm kind of okay with a 975m-long Enterprise-D, given that Discovery is (a frankly absurd) 780.5m, and much longer than the D's canonical length of 642m.

I think everything in the Enterprise linage has to be upscaled…at least until the E-D. But I don’t think you have to adjust Voyager, the Defiant, etc…
Ah okay Strange new world is an alternate universe anyway so no big deal.
Nope. Unless you think TNG and Voyager are also alternate timelines.First Contact changed the timeline irreparebly
When does Vic Fontaine's show start?![]()

When does Vic Fontaine's show start?
I don't care.
Y'know, I feel about this series the way I did about TNG: It's a restart. Just a general housecleaning and refreshing of Star Trek.
Why? The jump in size from the Ent-A to B was massive. Bumping the original size up to 442m has absolutely zero effect on any plot lines and simply makes the jump from Constitution to Excelsior a little less extreme.
I can reconcile it fine. The more we see of the interior of the Discoprise the less you can visually reconcile it with everything that has come after, just by sheer size alone.
Nope. The size difference between the Excelsior and Ambassador wasn't that much.Because it makes sense that if you upscale the ship by almost 50% it would ripple going forward, starting with the refit. So this timeline/universes 1701-A is gonna be bigger by roughly 15-18m. So the size of the Excelsior class increases, the Excelsior refit increases on top of that, etc…
