The Stargate Franchise - A First Timer's Watchthrough

I wonder if this has anything to do with the rumours of Apple+ acquiring the franchise?
Which one?
Part of it is probably that only season 8, 9, and 10 were done in HD and studios don't seem to care for doing partial-HD releases of completed series. Plus, it's old (which is probably why only the first season of SGU was released on Blu-Ray. Cancelled shows get the bare minimum, and BR wasn't standard yet).
I was surprised a few months ago that 30 Rock got a complete series BR release (even though the first two seasons were done in SD). But, if we're taking requests, I'd rather have some more soundtrack releases. Seasons 8-10 of SG-1 and 2 of Universe are, after all, available in HD, just not necessarily in the most convenient or consistent form.
Let's not even fantasize about a remaster of seasons 1-7 (though if I got the gig, I would insist on painstakingly painting out and replacing all the times the pyramid symbol appears on Stargates that weren't the Giza gate. I'll probably do it anyway at some point, the world's most pointless fan-edit).

I haven’t heard anything about this. Is Apple TV+ trying to acquire old content or where they just focused on original content? I wonder if this will make the TV side of ITunes like the Music Side and a subscription will give you access to various TV shows.
There have been a lot of shows in recent years that have only gotten a DVD release and not Blu-ray. Indeed, I think 20th Century Fox actually has in the past year or two stopped doing Blu-ray releases for all their shows, with DVD being the only option for physical media releases.
The rumour I heard is that Apple+ were trying to acquire exclusive streaming rights to SG-1, Atlantis and SGU. There is an additional rumour they want to develop a new Stargate series as well.

That is good news
I wouldn't mind a new Stargate series, but I kinda want it to connect to Universe in a way. I just want to know what happened to Destiny and it's crew.
Well, it just says we're getting answers for what happened to the SGU cast after the cliffhanger ending. Which could just be a character making an off-hand reference about "those poor sons of bitches on Destiny sure met a terrible end..."
