Stargate: Continuum
And so the Adventures of SG-1 have come to an end. I'm actually a little sad about that because it was just so much fun watching this group go on adventures for the last 2 months. There are always re-watches and new things to discover though. I do think in about a year I could find myself watching SG-1 again.
As for this movie, I liked it better than Ark of Truth, but it was still a made for TV movie. It was basically one final adventure to deal with Ba'al, who has eluded capture until now. I appreciated the cameos of General Hammond and Jack O'Neill and overall I just felt this was a tighter written story than Ark of Truth, which was hindered because of the Replicator plot line. I really liked the scenes when SG-1 was first on the Alexandria and meet up with the alternate version of Jack. We get to see the interrogation, 24 style, and the scene with Landry telling them they had to find new identities was kind of sad. I actually wished we got to see more of their Alternate lives (Why could they not see each other but they still had each other's cell number?) but this movie was only 94 minutes and we had a plot to cover.
The rest of it was basically an SG-1 episode. Ba'al comes with a fleet of Goa'uld ships, Quetesh (Vala) kills Ba'al and siezes power, and the rest of it is a shoot'em up action piece to restore the timeline. It was a nice last hurrah for SG-1, even if the ending could have had a more appropriate goodbye. I guess you can only say goodbye so many times. There are episodes of SG-1 that are better than this movie though, so that's why I would probably give it like a 3.5 out of 5.
