No. I meant "love letter" in a good way.
But now that @tomalak301 has seen the episode I can elaborate. The reason I call it a "love letter to the series" (in a good way) is because of the call-backs to the first movie. We get Ra again. We get SG1 launching another popular uprising against Ra like in the first movie. In fact, that scene with the Egyptians rising up from behind the hill seems like a direct call-back to the movie. We also get a call-back to the pilot, "Children of the Gods" with finding Te'alc on Chulak and him turning on Apophis. And of course the episode is also a delightful play on alternate timelines where we get to see Hammond, Jack, Cartr, Daniel etc in different roles. And then everything wraps up with that final scene like at the end of "Threads" (except with fish this time, hinting that it is not quite the same timeline as before).
