the song that gives you chills and goose bumps?

Imogen Heap - "Just for Now" - especially this live version, where you get to watch her weave all the layers together:

Chills? Not a song, but this ought to do.

If that doesn't work, this will.

(In both cases, turn your volume up as far as is practical.)

One song that brings tears to my eyes is Little Boy Lost which is about a little boy who became lost in the Australian bush and about the thousands of men and women (about 5000 according to one account) who searched for him. I was only about two years old when Stephen Walls went missing and so I don't remember it, but my mother used to play the song when we were young so I knew the story behind it, and how is ended, at a very early age.

Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms

Leonard Cohen - Hallelujah
[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a3Fkuq5Lf0Q[/yt]

Now I've heard there was a secret chord
That David played, and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
It goes like this
The fourth, the fifth
The minor fall, the major lift
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Michael Jackson - Little Susie
[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhQ3Hdm5xc8[/yt]

A fall down the stairs,
Her dress torn,
Oh the blood in her hair.
A mystery so sullen in air.

She lie there so tenderly,
Fashioned so slenderly,
Lift her with care,
Oh the blood in her hair.

Midnight Oil - Short Memory
[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1ii__QoNuM[/yt]

A smallish man Afghanistan
A watch dog in a nervous land
They're only there to lend a hand
Short memory

Midnight Oil - Bedlam Bridge
[YT]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neBWPruJpbY[/YT]

There's a place that knows no poverty
A town without pollution
There's a soul with good intentions

[....]

But there's a man who makes no enemies
A body never breathless
No ambition ever hopeless

Nitin Sawhney - Beyond Skin
[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YD0B_QqMtjY[/yt]

I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita…
Vishnu ... is trying to persuade the prince ... that he should do his duty.
And ... to impress him... takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds."
I suppose we all thought that, one way or another.

Verve Pipe - The Freshmen
[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVNAp1C8LIw[/yt]

For the life of me I cannot remember
What made us think that we were wise and we'd never compromise
For the life of me I cannot believe we'd ever die for these sins
We were merely freshmen

Hunters & Collectors - The Holy Grail
[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQI5fdVCvlU[/YT]

We were foolish beings
But we were dying like flies
And those big black birds,
they were circling in the sky,
And you know what they say, yeah,
Nobody deserves to die.

I am Kloot - Avenue of Hope
[yt]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrYVi54d0lk[/yt]

Along the avenue of hope
The footsteps falter, the fingers grope
And days, stretch out, beneath the sun
No-one's born, and no-one dies, no-one loves, so no-one cries
And we wait to see just what we will become

Just a few that give me the chills:

There was a documentary I caught on PBS a while back, about a chorus called Young@Heart, made up entirely of people between the ages of 70 and 100, who sing rock and roll. They perform everything from Sonic Youth, to Radiohead, to The Clash, and they're a lot of fun.

Over the course of filming two of the chorus died, and a planned duet of Coldplay's "Fix You" unexpectedly became a solo. The man singing was 80 at the time (I believe he has since passed away as well), and had been suffering congestive heart failure for years. Still, he carried his portable oxygen on stage and sang a beautiful tribute:
