I sorta get the chill up the spine when I hear the china => rider done live these days other then that the thrill chills are gone..

So what are the song/songs that give the chilled goose bump effects to you?

The Rolling Stones’ haunting, elegiac “Ruby Tuesday.” Can't get enough of that flute.

The first song that always comes to mind when this question arises is Johnny Cash's Cover of "Hurt", which is the best cover ever. Even the original guy of the song (Trent Reznor) said so so it must be true. ;)

That and these others of his for me: "(Ghost) Riders in the Sky", "Wayfaring Stranger".

Coldplay's "Vive la Vida" also does it.

The instrumentation of a song or other piece of music is what gives me goosebumps more often than the lyrics.

Don´t laugh, but I think that would be this lullaby. It not only gives me chills, it makes me cry, cause I always, already as a child, sang it to my pets when they were dying (or shortly after they had died)....adding to the part: "When God wants he will awake you again." that when he not wants, he will take you to the Rainbowbridge and you´ll be happy there, young again and not feeling any pain.
The next time (and probably soon) I will be singing it to my dog. :weep:

And the lullaby from Pan´s Labyrinth gives me shivers as well. But without crying at least. ;)

The sweeping theme music for the opening of HBO John Adams gives me chills every time.

I'm going to go with 3 completely different styles of music, but they all make me all goose-bumpy:

1. Act I finale, Turandot, Puccini.
2. Yours, Blues Traveler.
3. Doctor Who opening credits (I prefer the 2008-09 version, but the 2010 arrangement is growing on me).

I have several that dance up and down my spin. But instead of a list I narrowed it down.

Annie Lennox's Love Song for a Vampire (It was a toss-up between this one and Into the West.)

Bear McCreary's Passacaglia

Etta James At Last

Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms

Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here

And because I'm a geek:
Bear McCreary - Kara Remembers

Elisa - Dancing

... because "it's all about love." This woman is the most talented and underrated musician of her generation, in my opinion.

Pink Floyd - Keep talking

Puts me in an almost altered state of consciousness - same place they must have been when they composed this, with a little extra help no doubt!

Whitney Houston - I didn't know my own strength

Has a lot of personal meaning for me.
