Spoilers The Ships of Lower Decks

I had always thought the Obena was just a lazy kitbash of Excelsior and Sovereign parts. Looks like that was actually the design process. At least they went with the Sovereign nacelles, which look marginally better than the Galaxy nacelles.

I'm glad Lower Decks got to broaden Trek lore with some new ships.

The California class for me in the beginning took a bit for me to warm up to.

And in all fairness, I like the Obena class USS Archimedes. Also the Parliament class.

Neutral on Oslo class. And while the Texas class looks cool, it isn't.

This has me wondering: Is there somewhere online a comprehensive list of all Starfleet ships that were introduced in Lower Decks?

Also, something tech-wise that has always annoyed me about LDS is their consistent attitude that the Cerritos and the California class in general are considered old, obsolete, and looked down upon by Starfleet. The design of the ship, both interior and exterior, seems to negate this idea. Based on multiple factors, the Calis seem to be no older than ships produced during the middle of TNG. I could understand if they opted for the ship to be from the TMP era or something, but I just don't really buy the whole idea they've been pushing about the class's 'lower-class' status.
I would have really liked to get a date on when the class was commissioned. I get the impression it was a kitbash ship like the kind that show up in the background in random ship battle scenes of old trek and so it was a mix of old and new parts.

But the ship is fairly large (albeit thin), has functional but modern aesthetics, a Captain's Yacht and a fairly beefy Warp Core. Hell, its a class made for carrying around dignitaries and doing diplomacy, which means surely it has too look fancy enough for that. I especially dont buy that it's less prestigious than an Oberth.

Also while I'm here, this is still the best looking ship in modern Trek. Only downside is having a design that made them peak so early (and it not showing up in a later season enough to give us a depiction with the updated ship visuals).
