Spoilers The Ships of Lower Decks

So, then, what CBS says doesn't matter.
I don't know.
Seems to me that They really have only half-heartedly tried to push the prequel idea.
Lately, you don't hear much about it from Their end anyway.

I believe that They are OK with the fans going in whatever direction makes each one happy with the results.
(as long as we keep watching)
;)

I mean, this is the most logical approach. I think that CBS cares in so far that people will participate with the product. Which is why complaining about it while still watching it is a net win for them.

So, then, what CBS says doesn't matter.

Just like how the sticker price on a car at a car dealership doesn’t matter. The car dealership just wants to sell you a car; they’ll be happy to negotiate that price with you, but if you just buy the car at that original price, the dealership isn’t going to argue with you; they’re just going to pat themselves on the back later because they got you to pay their original price because you didn’t bother to haggle.

I don't think I quite follow.

Then let me translate.

Just like how the sticker price (DSC is a prequel to TOS) on a car (DSC) at a car dealership (CBS) doesn’t matter. The car dealership (CBS) just wants to sell you a car (DSC); they’ll be happy to negotiate that price with you (DSC can either be a prequel to TOS or be its own thing), but if you just buy the car (DSC) at that original price (DSC is a prequel to TOS), the dealership (CBS) isn’t going to argue with you; they’re just going to pat themselves on the back later because they got you to pay their original price (DSC is a prequel to TOS) because you didn’t bother to haggle (CBS thinks more people will spend money on CBSAA if their flagship show is marketed as a prequel to TOS rather than it being its own thing.)

It's nice to get actual, proper looking ships again. Especially with the creator being an actual ship guy.

And with that said, I'm noticing that I'm getting off topic, so I'll quit that line of conversation. Back on topic: A new Klingon ship design! Whoo hoo!

Where does the Vancouver rank in Star Trek "sexiness"? It's not a Galaxy or Sovereign class vessel but the Lower Deckers ooo and awww over it like it is one.

I'm thinking the Cerittos is basically the "New Miranda" class vessel and fulfills that ship's role as the butt monkey of Star Fleet.

Star Trek Online helps me here as our antiheroes are on a Tier 1 vessel. But is the Vancouver a Tier 6? Or just a Tier 2? It's better than the Cerittos but by HOW MUCH.
My guess is that the Vancouver is the same ship at Tier 1, but just an upgrade skin with a bunch of pretty superficial improvements. Which is part of the joke.
So, again, the Msd and the Exterior shots don't match.. The Vancouver class this time. The exterior shows the same 3 deck lights on the saucer edge as the Cerritos, and the Msd has it as... 1 :brickwall:
They're doing that on purpose. The writers have jokes for themselves, too, and driving MSD folks like you bonkers is one of them.;)

All the ships in Picard and Discovery look proper. John Eaves is a ship guy. He's been working on Star Trek ships since Star Trek 5.
So I don't understand your post.

Anyways, where did we learn who designed the Lower Decks ships, and who is it?

John Eaves only designed a few of the ships. Mainly the better ones.

If you mean Discovery, he designed a majority of the Starfleet designs in Season 1 (he didn't work on 2). Picard, we don't know what ones he designed yet outside of the Inquiry class, but the Romulan designs look a lot like his Nemesis work.

Vancouver and Cerritos look to be taking care of the same kind of problems. I'd say the Parliament-class is the new California-class.
