The Shield

I've always been a big fan of The Shield but for whatever reason I missed out on seasons six and seven. I'm about to marathon the whole series on dvd in the next week or two, as soon as I finish doing the same for Galactica.

There doesn't seem to have been a lot of talk about it here lately. Just curious, but what did people think of the last couple of seasons and the finale in particular? Was it a satisfying conclusion? Please try not to spoil anything as I haven't seen it yet.
