Okay guys, I need to know what Kathryn's middle name is.

I have heard it was Kathryn Marie Janeway
and than I have heard that it was Kathryn Elizabeth Janeway

so...which is it? And, if it has never been written, what would be a good middle name for our beloved Captain?

I think it was Elizabeth...that name was associated with her somehow, wasn't it?

I don't think we were ever officially told her middle name or even given a hint about it (like initials). Unless it showed up on an LCARs screen that most wouldn't have been payed attention to...

"M" as the middle initial seems to be widely accepted in fanfiction (thus the "Marie" showing up often). Where that came from, I don't know. Maybe one of the books said it. Elizabeth probably comes in at a close second (possibly just because it sounds good with Kathryn)

I think she might have had a middle initial (M) in "Pathways," the novel that was at one time considered canon. But I'd have to dig out the novel to find it. To my knowledge, that is the only place an ititial is ever mentioned.

Does anyone else remember?

But I just learned that books aren't canon

The fans argued with other fans that Mosaic and Pathways should be considered as canon, since series co-creator Jeri Taylor wrote 'em.

But, after she left the show, not everything in the books matched with what was developed onscreen.

From what I heard they were canon for a while but after Jeri Taylor left they were declared non-canon. That's why events match up until about Year 5.

Thats strange, because you can't say: since Jesus died on the cross anything about him in the bible is non biblically.

I thought guidlines can never be changed?!
