The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition

You can also buy the PC version for $10 on Steam.

I played it for the first time when it came out a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it. I loved the setting, the characters and the humor. While I was playing with the upgraded graphics I found myself switching to the old graphics every time I got to a new screen just to see what they originally looked like.

I also liked the hint system, I suck at adventure games so not having to go to Gamefaqs all the time was nice.

Hopefully this remake sold well enough for MI 2 and 3 remakes.

the ending DOES say that Guybrush Threepwood shall return, this is a labor of love for the lucas arts guys, so I expect they will release MI:2 SE reguardless

Well to be fair even if they don't release MI2 and 3 SE technically that message would be correct since there already are sequels, including several unreleased Tales of Monkey Island games (speaking of which hopefully the second one will be released soon).

Though I really do hope we get MI2 and 3. MI2 looks like it might also need a graphical update like this one, but from the screenshots I've seen of MI3 it looks like it should be fine without a graphical update.

Just MI2 would be fine since I don't think MI3 needs to be changed in the slightest (it is my favorite MI) unless it was to upgrade the resolution of the animation.

M.I.3 looks great as is, E.M.I. on the other hand....

I dunno, I think EMI looks pretty good, still. It's a product of it's time, sure, but the graphics were generally well-done. I'm also in the minority of MI fans that really enjoys EMI, though (well, aside from Monkey Kombat).

As for SMI:SE I bought it last week off Steam. Haven't finished it yet (just about to start Part III), but as soon as I have time I'll be back at it. I love Dominic Armato as Guybrush, so it's great hearing him do all the old lines. :D
