It would also depend on how far RA will take these snippets... will it be a full-blown production, shorts or just dialogue-free fragments? Either way, all very exciting stuff
Now I have this mental image of Selleck opening his mouth and sounding like Peter Cook's vicar from "The Princess Bride"! (Reminds me when I attended my elderly neighbor's funeral. As expected a very somber experience...until his dear friend gave a eulogy. He really did sound like that, all the "R" consonants sounding like "W". Thank the Fates I wore a full suit in 90+ degree weather making me utterly miserable! Otherwise, I fear i would have burst out laughing!)
Spock sounds as good as he looks (the ‘remember’ we recorded in the teaser is one example), No voice modulation or anything - that line was straight out of our ADR recording session .
One detail I really like is that you didn't change Mahe's eye color with contact lenses. And I agree with @Professor Moriarty..
The respeecher might be helpful https://www.respeecher.com/case-stu...ger-luke-skywalkers-voice-disneys-mandalorian Lyrebird is another such program https://www.descript.com/lyrebird https://blog.replicastudios.com/lyrebird-alternatives/
Luke sounded a bit weird to me. Would render have a natural voice both for the performance, especially if the actor can get 95% of the way there
Ok what exactly is this whole thing? I keep seeing its an interactive archive but I don't really understand what or where it is. Do you interact with Colt, or is that stuff just more of at trailer for something?
Thanks - yes! I was watching raised by wolves and could see the contact lenses used there on ‘father’, and I found that jarring, and Clay (our CCO) had mentioned it earlier. The first shot we see of Colt in the first teaser is an ECU of her eye.
I would expect that bringing M'Ress to life in the RA (at some point down the line, just not sure when that might be though) would get the same attention to quality and detail as the team applied to Arex!
The interactive experiences are essentially a digital 3D museum walkthrough tour of the archive's sets and props "in universe", and those assets have also been used as well for the two concept videos and myriad BTS interviews and interstitials the RA has released since Gene's Centennial. When the technology improves, we'd like to enable portions of these videos to render on AR/VR/holographic displays as 3D experiences. We are experimenting with that now: https://twitter.com/JulesUrbach/status/1566569355185233920
I understand, no promises as to "when" or even "if", but I suspect I'll "squee" like like a schoolyard dweeb should you ever depict her! Given the detail put into Arex, I'd almost expect to see a few fleas in her fur!
What about all of the production documents in the Roddenberry Archive, such as scripts, memos, and paperwork ephemera of that nature? Will that be included within the "museum," as well?
Can you be more specific regarding this? Is this in the Roddenberry Archive? Are there any links to this?
Having seen the new TMP outtakes, I couldn't help but wonder if it might be possible to fill in the blanks with vocoded dialogue.
