The rewatch is going well...

As a Kes fan, Fury was a slap in the face. I wonder if that episode hadn't been made and Lien never came back to Voyager if her life would have been any different.

Why would it be different? Are you suggesting that the plot of Fury is directly responsible for Lien becoming a boob flasher?

I like Fury. It's a fun romp.

Admittedly, I care little for Kes as a character so that helps enjoy the ride for what it is (plus all the haircuts in the past being wrong).

Im saying the way she left and then brought back for that episode might have had a little impact. That whole situation was a mess

I get how one might argue that being fired contributed to screwing her up (Lynx regularly makes that case) but doesn't inviting her back suggest she maintained a reasonably good relationship with everyone? Not to mention harboured no ill feeling towards them.

I think people overstate the connection between the shitty turn her life took and being dropped from the show.

The Haunting of Deck 12.

He said it was ok but he kept wanting to nod off...probably because of the harrowing day he had. We got a lot of snow from Jonas and he had to run around getting his store in order before they closed up for a couple of days.

I liked it. It was ok. Not a favorite...but I don't skip it.

"The Haunting of Deck 12" was one of my favorites the first time it aired. I have a hard time rewatching it, though. I can't stand the damn Borg kids, and Icheb is way too old to be listening to Neelix tell ghost stories.

This was also around the time when I got tired of the "It's trying to communicate!" trope. Not every stupid thing in the universe is trying to communicate! Some things are just trying to eat you.

Unimatrix Zero. Watch the video at Sci Fi Debris. Chuck and I are in complete agreement. I normally like the two parters but this one is at the bottom of the list...especially since I found out the original story line was supposed to be a sequel to Dark Frontier and be about Seven's Dad but they changed it to a 'love' story.

They sacrificed the Delta Flyer.

There were some good things. Tom got his rank back (some say because the writers were planning on Tom and B'Elanna getting married and they wanted them to be the same rank) and the scene where Tom was acting first officer to 'Captain' Chakotay but only because that's the dynamic in the re-launch novels.

Apart from that...no. Just no.

Oh please. I've just regrettably tipped the permitted BMI for my height and I can assure you, I have no interest in devouring you, Hux. *edited for running my mouth too long. Snarky mood. :(

By the way, I'm loving how ongoing this thread is. The two posts on the same topic I've observed never made it beyond Kazon space ;) hehehe.

I liked Unimatrix 0 because Jeri Ryan got to be Jeri Ryan and not Seven. I wanted more of that bubbly personality to creep into Seven as the series went on but alas it didn't.

she 'tried' but the script kept going into "I am Borg" on too many times. Then in Endgame BAM Unimatrix seven shows up for the Commander. Or did it? I block those scenes.

You're not one of those women who eats burgers but thinks having a diet coke balances things out, are you Cat?

Unimatrix Zero is one I hardly remember. Is that the one with Seven's dreamscape boyfriend.

It was actually that episode where 7 and holographic Chakotay were romantically involved. I guess you can say that was the start of endgame bam Unimatrix seven, as you call it.

Good god, no. I studied nutrition. My feeling on this is if you're going to 'break the rules' might as well go all out. I don't buy diet chow or sugar substitutes ever. I eat for emotional reasons in the winter. Sheer boredom combined with seasonal depression. I yo-yo. Fluffy in the winter, a bit better in summer. Which I suppose i could argue is biological survival ;)

Unimatrix Zero was the one where Seven went to a magical land while she was regenerating and met other 'dreaming' drones.

There was that...

Drive-This is one he remembered from the first time around but the only thing that stood out was Tom's proposal when the ship was about to blow up.

I like the idea of a race in space. ;)

They finally brought the T/P relationship back to the forefront but I admit re-watching it I was rolling my eyes at the 'Boyfriend forgets something/girlfriend silently stews about it' trope. Part of me would have liked to have seen B'Elanna let loose on him but then I have no idea how the rest of the episode would have gone. I also wonder why Tom didn't ask B'Elanna to be his co-pilot to begin with. I mean personally if it had been me and my boyfriend had come to me with "I got this chance to be in this race and it means we will have to cancel our week-end...will be be my co-pilot?' it might have softened the disappointment. Maybe. It would for me anyway...but then she wouldn't have had that heart to heart with Neelix and Seven. In the end she gave up the week-end for him and he gave up the race for her. It's twu wuv. Harry can add terrorist to his list of 'conquests'.

Imperfection-Yes we flipped the episodes back to their proper order. It doesn't make sense to suddenly have the Delta Flyer back with no explanation plus the fact that Tom was waving his wedding ring around.

Borg Kids...I hardly knew you. Would be cool if they get brought back in a novel.

I admired Icheb's moxie. Rash move but yes...it was the logical thing to do. Yes it was nice that Seven has grown to the point where she can now pass on the lessons of the wonders of individuality to others. I don't skip this one.

Repression. Would have liked it much better if it had come earlier in the series and if hadn't been wrapped up so quickly. I would also have liked to have known if the Maquis were aware of what they were doing...or were their minds reset back to the time when they first joined Voyager? Did they have memories or did they just not...care? I really liked the first part of the story but the second half was...meh. I skip this one when I'm on my own.

Critical Care. This made me think of all the horror stories we were fed in the US about Universal Health care. There will be death panels and emergency rooms won't take you for whatever convoluted reason. You will be in pain for months because you are on a waiting list for that hip or knee surgery.
For the most part I liked it although I didn't understand the bit about the 'fake' Doctor being a training file. Was there more than one? Why didn't Tom and Harry work with one of those instead of trying to start from scratch way back during 'Message in a Bottle'? Did this have anything to do with the backup from 'Living Witness'?

Inside Man. Reg...Reg...Reg. The Ferengi again? I did like the bits of continuity though...Tom and Harry's dialogue about their failed attempts to get home and the line 'The Romulans have been interested in Voyager for years'.
This one was ok. I don't skip it mainly because I do like the 'secondary Alpha Quadrant' cast and you can tell the Voyager crew does have an honest affection for Barkley and appreciate his attempts to help them.

Drive-This is one he remembered from the first time around but the only thing that stood out was Tom's proposal when the ship was about to blow up.

Proposals when you think you're about to die should be instantly null and void. Then they're married by the end of the episode? Tom was blindsided.

Repression. Would have liked it much better if it had come earlier in the series and if hadn't been wrapped up so quickly.

This episode is what should have been. But again, with Voyager everything is instantly reset at the end. No harm done.
