The rewatch is going well...

oh the make up isn't obvious. I didn't notice until I binged watched seasons. (Except Someone to Watch Over Me. she had shiny purple teenager lids.) She goes from soft peachy/cream tones to almost a Mary Kay sales kinda blush. And the new trendy late 90's dark eye. Now, I actually LIKE S5 make up. She looks sexy but it is darker more serious than Star Fleet brat peach or whatever.

11:59. Another one I forget about. :o We are both into genealogy and we often reflect on how people insist that they are descended from whatever great person (Pocahontas's only son must have been the most prolific of men) or that their great great uncle rode with Jesse James. I'm 1/4 Cherokee and it used to be a running joke that people would tell me 'My great grandmother was a Cherokee Princess'. That sort of thing has died down in recent days because people are able to research these claims on their own via the internet and discover their grandmother was just spouting fantasies. Anyway...that's pretty much all we got from that episode.

Relativity. He thought it was a good episode but the whole 'Seven of Nine Show' is getting blatant.

Warhead-He liked but we noted had seen it before in Prototype and Dreadnought. When it first aired it would have been several years between those episodes so I don't know if people would have remembered the similarities but when you do a re-watch like this it really stands out. I think of the three I like this one the best.

Oh Equinox. He was reminded of The Pegasus from BSG (our daughter HATED Admiral Cain and when she describes that episode it always included a gleeful 'and she got shot in the face!')

Anyway...maybe it's just me but if I were one of the 'lower deck' people from the Equinox I would have jumped ship for Voyager at the first opportunity. Intact bulkheads, sonic showers and no angry space dolphins. No brainer. Yes I would have endured the brig if it came to that. Admiral Janeway becomes Captain Ahab, Chakotay is the voice of reason and when a contrite Ransom finally shows up it's all "Ok."

We did like that the Equinox showed how beat up a ship could get and that unlike the Year of Hell this time the Voyager crew would remember it and we hope count their lucky stars. I'm not one that is into the whole idea that is how Voyager SHOULD have been but I think I would like to have seen more scenes like the one in Nightingale where they had to stop and do major repairs. They didn't have to do it every other episode but once in a while to remind us that the ship is not invincible.

On to Season 6.

Yeah, I'm not somebody who wanted the show to get super bleak and depressing. I didn't need the whole show to be Year of Hell, but it would have been nice to see the ship get a little wear and tear.

11:59> interesting how shows we yawned over Kate loved. lol.

Equinox: I don't think they'd jump ship so easily now. They "bonded" remember? :blech:
It would have shook things up a bit more for me as a viewer had SOMEONE from Voy jumped.

Barge of the Dead-not really impressed. Even though it had a 'good ending' it was just too dark. Too much angst. For myself I endure B'Elanna's episodes. I liked the scenes with Tom but that's about it.

He enjoyed Tinker Tailor Doctor Spy. Laughed all the way through it.

He liked Alice which surprised me a bit, don't know why. He caught onto the connection with Christine. For whatever reason I've always liked it...maybe because Tom yells at B'Elanna for once. I know..I'm evil but whatever.

"Barge of the Dead" is my absolute favorite B'Elanna episode, and I remember it being super popular on the BBS when it first aired.

Though I do admit, after my own recent rewatch, pretty much all of B'Elanna's episodes tend to revolve around the same old shit.

I understand a lot of people like BOtD and that I am an odd person out. I do however understand the appeal.

I 'think' it might have to do with the fact that I just don't care for episodes where characters live someone else's life or the majority of the episode takes place in a dream. Yes that includes Far Beyond the Stars and Remember. Not saying they are 'bad' episodes (well I think Remember is but whatever) but it has to do with personal taste. The Inner Light gets a slight pass because the writing and acting are good but its not a favorite. Yes I know I'm the odd person out on that one too. ;)

I don't mind if the episode is set in the 'real' world and the character's behavior is affected by dreams or time traveling moments. I like Memorial but it is set in the present. I don't think I would like it half as much if the whole episode was about the characters in the past living the event as it happens. I know a similar argument could be made about Remember but in Memorial we didn't know these people's names or know any details about their lives. In Waking Moments the characters know its a dream. Nemesis I go back and forth on. No, it's not real but we don't know it's not real until the end.

It's just not the sort of story I care for.

Its a rewatch for me. Husband is seeing a lot of these episodes for the first time because during its original run he had work obligations or something...we can't remember exactly but there was a legitimate reason he couldn't keep up. He told me that he likes it and we sometimes watch two episodes at a time. Right now we are in the middle of season 3. He has these funny rules when we go through a series. I am not allowed to make any comments about anything 'behind the scenes' until the episode is finished because he says that interferes with his enjoyment of the show. I can however point out things like "Garak directed this one!"

Each episode gets a nickname. Macrocosm is "Janeway Goes Sarah Connor'. Blood Fever is " B'Elanna discovers Tom is a good guy'. Fair Trade is "Where Neelix doesn't get kicked off the ship." Threshold is "The One she made me skip'. :p I wish I could remember the earlier ones but from now on I'm going to keep a record.

Anyway...going well. No complaints so far.
Haha! Nice relations with your man you have. I like and dream about such girl with which we could play games light-heartedly and watching films. Would like the single problems in our relations be the spoilers :D

Agrh! Riddles. Another episode I forgot about! Why do some episodes stand out (even mediocre episodes) and some do not? Is it because they don't highlight my favorite characters? Don't get me wrong. Tuvok and Neelix are ok and I 'like' them. There are other characters I like better is all.

Husband really liked it. Thought the way Neelix tried to look after Tuvok was quite touching. I thought it was nice to see Tim Russ do something besides stand around and look superior.

I liked the 'shadow' people. Wish we had learned more about them. Amusing to think that even advanced societies can have their own version of 'alien hunters'.

Should they have 'forced' Tuvok to go through the procedure? Is this Tuvik Part Two? Don't know. Wish Tuvok had acknowledged his experience in some way apart from the joke but whatever.

I note that Dawson directed this.

All of Tuvok's episodes seem to have vanished from my memory. I noticed this during my rewatch as well. They're not bad, and I like Tuvok, but I just don't care about him that much.

I think the show needed to do a better job showcasing his friendship with Captain Janeway. They're supposed to have been close friends for a very long time, but we almost never got to see that.

I watch VOY all the time so there is no 'vanishing' from memory. Except once. When transitioning from watching it on network to owning it on DVD and I got to binge. It was that first round it felt new and exciting since I forgot more than I care to admit. You know what Tuvok episode I forgot? Well for one, the title, LOL but it's that one where there's an embedded evil message that brainwashes Tuvok to starting a mutiny and he's after the Maquis.

1st watch reaction: "Maybe your crew couldn't put the past behind them?"
Me: Wait, hers?!
Janeway: "My crew?"
Me: Oh good. She caught that.

Later: I forgot that the phaser scene. Listen for the cliche pending doom violin dramatic music here. Not that I thought he'd kill her but still exciting a little bit.

Repression? Regression? Re-something.

That episode would have been great as a 2-parter. Tuvok aiming the phaser at Janeway would have made an excellent cliffhanger, and then it wouldn't have felt like it had such a half-assed resolution.

Repression. I usually skip this one because for one thing it's so out of place. Should have happened early in the first season and one crew or the other should been temporarily marooned on the planet...or maybe we should have seen some kind of firefight on the ship.

I blame UPN for missed chances like this.

it was meant to kick in assuming they were all pals and stuff. To create havoc. I assumed it might have happened sooner if Tero or whatever, was able to get a message to him sooner to start it off. It took the creepy guy finding out probably via gossip that Voyager was around and within communications thus he chose then to split up the new family.

We needed a show down with Seska or I would have suggested it be the season 2 cliff hanger. We've already had too many planet dumpings hehe. The Kazon thing, the virus thing, the lost lizard baby thing, creating and abandoning copies. Meh. old.

It had potential. Sadly, wasted potential. He JUST got Janeway in the brig when he's like "oh oops sorry. Here's your ship back." ugh.

Dragon's Teeth

As the aliens were getting into the tubes during the teaser husband quipped "Don't worry. Your son will grow up to be Superman.'

I did not notice until this viewing that the female alien was wearing high heels.

Seven...oh Seven. Don't wake up the sleeping people.

Neelix actually had a 'clue' this time around. ;)

I never skip this episode. Maybe because it's more of an 'ensemble' piece than a character based episode which I like.

I remember when "Dragon's Teeth" aired, there was a big deal made about how the Vadwaar were going to be a new recurring villain. And then we never see or hear from them again.

Frustrating. It's like the Borg Baby. Someone was 'supposed' to write a scene where it was taken to it's home planet but they somehow never got around to it.
