The rewatch is going well...

I gave this Be'lanna topic some thought. I adore her.Her stories I do not .

Good. I'm glad I'm not the only one.

We went on a mini-binge. Several episodes in succession. I don't know if its because he really likes it or if he is in a hurry to finish. For the record he has said that he does like it.

So onward and upward.

No more Extreme Risk for me unless I get nostalgic for the making of the original Delta Flyer and then it will just be those scenes. "After all that she just smiles at a pancake?" :wtf:

He was intrigued by In the Flesh. It kept his interest.

Liked Once Upon a Time. I mentioned how some fans were upset that Tom didn't tell B'Elanna he loved her but it was pointed out the scene started when he was in the MIDDLE of his message. Samantha told Naomi she loved her at the beginning of her 'last words' so we have no idea what Tom's first words were. That's a fair point. He thought it was a fairly good episode. Neelix should have been honest with Naomi from the beginning but he understood why he held it back.

He loved Timeless. Thought it was great. Really liked seeing Levar Burton. Geordie was always a favorite of his. His words at the end of it "That was Awesome!"

Infinite Regress-"So it was Seven's turn to be 'put through the wringer'. :borg:

Nothing Human. I never understood why they just didn't give Crell Moset a different face and name. Call him Fred and make him look like some random person but as others pointed out it was NOT the fact that he was Caradassian, it was his research. I saw it as an attempt to return to the 'morality plays' of TOS. It had its moments, the best being the debate in the briefing room. Showed all sides of the arguments.

Thirty Days. This is another one I remember from the original airing and I also remember the 'fandom rage' the next day. 'Why did he get demoted thrown in jail when Tuvox, B'Elanna, Chakotay and Neelix all did bad things? Why so harsh on Tom?" We thought maybe it was because the others were sorry for their misdeeds but Tom gave the impression that while he accepted his punishment he wasn't repentant. If given the chance he would do it again. Maybe.

There was one reviewer that never got over it. For the rest of the series when a crew member did something wrong he would always ask "So I guess Janeway is going to demote him and throw him in jail...oh wait." My favorite was "So I guess Janeway is going to demote herself and throw herself in jail!"

Nothing Human: Because if they changed his appearance it's still a moral issue. They know it's him. That's the point.

Latent Image-"So it's the Doctor's turn to go through some kind of internal crisis?" He thought it was...'interesting'.

He really really liked Counterpoint. Thought it was a good move that the audience didn't see what the crew was up to. I never thought of it that way. I was so focused on the Janeway/Kasyk back and forth that I never thought about the crew having secret meetings planning what to do 'just in case'. When and where were they planning all this?

Personally I don't find Kashyk all that attractive (I prefer blonds) but I can understood how Janeway would. He shows up again (sort of) in one of the books.

He thought Bride of Chaotica was hilarious. He's always liked Paris and his holodeck adventures. I know Paris said he was giving up on Captain Proton but there was a later episode where Harry was trying to convince Tom to join him on the holodeck and he was dressed up at Buster Kincaid and Tom didn't want to to go. "Alice' maybe? I'll find out when I get there.

Anyway he seems to be enjoying Season 5 and I'm glad. I would hate it if he was bored and just sitting through all this just to be polite (like he did with the last Season of TNG. Probably his least favorite season of anything so far).

Gravity was ok. He likes the duo of Paris/Tuvok. "Who was in sickbay for the two days the Doctor and Paris were gone? One of the magical mystery back up files?" He thought the whole 'catching spiders' thing was funny. He has made no mention of all the crashed shuttles.

He liked the idea of Bliss but thought it dragged during the part when "Captain Ahab' was explaining his motivations.

Wow. He thought Dark Frontier was awesome...although the question came up 'Why is everything 'green'?

I have no idea.

I think you mean "Dark Frontier?"

But yeah, Voyager got a little weird about green spotlights. The Borg Queen even has a green spotlight on her later when she's in Uni-Matrix Zero.

Hehe...thanks. Changed it.

It reminded me of the green 'scrubbing bubbles of doom' from The Return of the King.

The Disease-the multi-generational ship was kind of cool and so was the 'movement' but we have never been into the 'romance of the week'. Tom's litany of Harry's failed romances got a laugh. He didn't mention the whole 'permission to date an alien' thing. The first time I watched it I got the impression that it meant 'first contact' aliens but I don't know where I got that idea.

Course Oblivion-"THAT WAS WEIRD!" I always wondered what would have happened if they HAD gotten to earth. Wouldn't they start to suffocate in earth's atmosphere?

No comment one way or another about the Fight. I don't think he was impressed. I always liked the scene where the aliens spoke to him through the crew.

What always bothered me about this episode is that the Demon Crew somehow managed to invent this awesome new warp drive that was going to get them back to Earth, but the real Voyager crew never managed to do the same.

I always forget about The Think Tank. I'll see the title and then vaguely remember Jason Alexander and the fact that was the episode we learned that the Vidians were cured of the Phage. That's it. Then I forget about it again.

Dreadnought. 'It's the green smoke of doom again!' For me it's another boring B'Elanna episode. I feel kind of guilty about that because I like the character.

He liked 'Someone to Watch Over Me'. Caught onto the 'My Fair Lady' homage right away. Robbie McNeil always goes on about Sacred Ground being his favorite of the episodes he directed (and since it was his first I can understand) but I would think this one is probably more of a fan favorite.

It was well paced. Bravo Mcneil. Although I had a hard time appreciating it as it was YET AGAIN another seven episode. Granted it was important to show her in this manner but I was already burnt. I liked Chapman was it? I'd like to see more of him. And alas no. Got to stuff her with hunk officer with no more personality. Even if this guy is a little awkward. I wanted to hope like Kim he'd outgrow that nervousness around her.

And I must be wearing my cynic hat this morning because what was up with Janeway's make up in this episode? It was eye shadow from Rocky Horror Picture show. (more or less) and why couldn't she put on her own pip? She had a mirror. No wonder J/7 went wild over that scene.

I felt the same way on the original viewing. More Seven. Stop. Then I kept hearing friends say this was their favorite episode of the whole series so I watched it again in isolation and without prejudice and it improved a bit. Sometime in the future I'll try and do the same with B'Elanna's episodes and try to judge them on their own merits.

That Pip scene.

He seems to be enjoying going through this series but he doesn't nitpick or over analysis things. He's the epitome of the 'casual' fan' which is in other words..the opposite of me.;)

That's the funny thing, I didn't nit pick the first time. Except I was nervous about Janeway's increasingly moodiness and dark make up to which it reflected such. I was pretty unconditional! I am rewatching it now and when did I get so critical?! haha boredom? It's still my first love to which I will always love even with the flaws. So I guess I should shut up and enjoy. I guess I don't see good conversation out of defending it all the time. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't.

I was a bit of a nitpicker the first time around because I kept contrasting it to DS9 (which I also love). Now...I just go with it. I still see the flaws though.

I'm going to have to make a mental note to check out the make up.
