I’d like to see the Doomsday Machine with the whale probe and the stone like Arrival ship—I know—small universe and all.
Maybe have each morph into one another
Hmmm...Section 32.its a front while he secretly gets section 32 up and running
I mean, I just was thinking of a new Section show to createyou think I would not make that typo., and know it was 31. ...with being Irish especially
Well the first starship humanity makes, will it be called the USS Trump?
What is the significance of 31 in Irish culture?you think I would not make that typo., and know it was 31. ...with being Irish especially
Star Trek video games predicted it in 1999. Granted, I wouldn't be too happy about an Oberth-class.
Oh wow that’s a lot. I thought the number 31 had some local astrological or mythical significance in Irish culture, you were going to say. So when the name first popped up in Trek was it surreal or was it removed enough in history that not so much?Section 31 is a part of the Irish constitution that drew a lot of attention world wide during the "Troubles" and the following years. which was about Censorship in the Republic, that was between 1968 and 1994,, and I remember it very well
Basically it forbid groups that were "outlawed" from being aired on tv and radio, like the political party Sinn Fein at the time who were the political wing of the IRA that was classed as a then terror group.Back then we only had 2 tv stations, both state owned, and the government dictated what was allowed, with a lot of influence by the bastard catholic church.
So whenever the Leader of sinnFein which was Gerry Adams spoke or did a rally or gave an interview the news wanted to cover, the tv stations devised a way where the showed the interview without sound, but had a voice actor speak the words which circumvented the rules.
If you scroll down on this link you will find more about section 31

- Ug. Let's hope it was named after the Antarctic Trump Islands, or the 1944 submarine HMS Trump.Star Trek video games predicted it in 1999. Granted, I wouldn't be too happy about an Oberth-class.
