And you just reminded me of a program I used to have back in 1997 It let you plot points on a photo and morph it into another photo by plotting points on the destination photo. It wasn't all that great but it worked.

Section 31 is a part of the Irish constitution that drew a lot of attention world wide during the "Troubles" and the following years. which was about Censorship in the Republic, that was between 1968 and 1994,, and I remember it very well

Basically it forbid groups that were "outlawed" from being aired on tv and radio, like the political party Sinn Fein at the time who were the political wing of the IRA that was classed as a then terror group.Back then we only had 2 tv stations, both state owned, and the government dictated what was allowed, with a lot of influence by the bastard catholic church.
So whenever the Leader of sinnFein which was Gerry Adams spoke or did a rally or gave an interview the news wanted to cover, the tv stations devised a way where the showed the interview without sound, but had a voice actor speak the words which circumvented the rules.

Oh wow that’s a lot. I thought the number 31 had some local astrological or mythical significance in Irish culture, you were going to say. So when the name first popped up in Trek was it surreal or was it removed enough in history that not so much?

- Ug. Let's hope it was named after the Antarctic Trump Islands, or the 1944 submarine HMS Trump.
Funnily enough, a lot of previous presidents and prime ministers had their names slapped on Akira-class ships (Thatcher, Reagan, Mitterand), so only getting an Oberth has got to sting a bit
