The percentage game

With so many hours of trek, TV and movies, from what you have seen (and to qualify that would mean all movies, and at least four of the five shows) what percentage of those hours have been worth it...in essence, what is Treks OVER ALL grade....

I voted "C".

While I would love Star Trek perfection I am not as daft as to expect it. I love a lot of things about Star Trek I just think that it will find greatness again in the future. I think Star Trek has the potential to really be something amazing again but it will have to be the right thing at the right time and I hope the creators/producers will have the wisdom to know the difference.

If it were just 'one' show, then yeah, I see your point. But some elements of TREK just didn't go over...in fact, here are generally accepted views (though I do not agree with all of them)

TOS season 3 was not that good
TMP didn't live up to hype
TREK movies GENERATION/INSURECTION/ NEMESIS/FRONTIER were not that good
TNG season 1, and part of season 2, were not that good
DS9..seasons 1 and 2 were so so, 3 okay, 4-7 great
Voy..some of it good, some of it bad
Enterprise...season 1 and 2 were not good..3 so/so..4 not bad

That's alot of 'iffy' grades there if you agree with any of it...so I think a C isn't bad...actually, a C average show that has over 700 hours to it can't be that bad.

I'd have to grade it a "B". On the whole I enjoy every series of Trek. There were bad spots but I think all of the series put on good runs.

I voted B. The description for C may be more accurate, but I think there's a lot more good Trek than bad, so it pulls it up over an average grade.

I'm really surprised and dissapointed of the numeber of C grades. C is average for me, and I consider Star Trek definitely better than average. I would sad that Star Trek is above average television during most seasons, and below average television only in some episodes.

F for me if I have to include all of Trek. Two good series, TOS and DS9. The rest was mostly mediocre and bad IMO. 2/5 = 40% good. Perhap 45% if adding in the few good TOS movies. Hence, F. I mis-clicked the Poll and voted D by accident though.

Voted C, I think its been a great franchise but they have made some big mistakes like, Voyager, Enterprise, Insurrection, Nemesis, The Final Frontier, and a few others.

Impossible poll. I can't group the likes of TNG and DS9 into mediocre Voyager and just plain bad Enterprise. I refuse to average it.

B. The cream tends to raise to the top. I doubt I'd be a die-hard fan unless I could see past the endless Lwaxana Troi appearances, chringeworthy Ferengi comedies, the occasional lame pleasure planet and decon chamber scene, particularly if it involves a certain Vulcan female on heat.

Actually, you'll have to excuse me while I linger on that last one for a second or two...

Three series that routinely gave us brilliant episodes. Another that played it too safe, but usually remained entertaining thanks to a likeable crew. More good movies than bad ones. And one series that was marginally better than staring at a blank tv screen.

All in all, I give it a "B".

I'll give it a B. I like the shows, but acknowledge it has flaws. That's true with any show, just that there have been a lot more hours of Trek.

I gave it a solid C. There have been many wonderful moments over the years that have amazed me, brought tears to my eyes, and allowed me a good laugh here and there. On the flip side, there have also been some not so good moments where I found myself saying "What the hell were they thinking?"
