Season 3 looking very likely as Orville gets a major California tax incentive
Oh the good days of DS9 vs B5 are back for atleast one more year! But let them both not forget they are not the only kids on the block. The Expanse is still around, Amazon is sure to back their fighter. Here is to a good clean fight, put your best writing forward, let VFX fly.
I just received the season 1 dvd in the mail and was shocked to see they actually had some special features with it. With Fox you're lucky to get only deleted scenes and maybe a gag reel. Too bad it's not on blu-ray.
Won't Disney be pulling the strings by the time a 3rd season comes around? For all we know, they're planning a Guardians of the Galaxy series for their streaming network and might see Orville as competition.
Or maybe we'll get an Orville/Guardians of the Galaxy crossover?

The buying party, in this case the Fox Network, will have the right to renew until the terms of the contract expire. That is usually after seven seasons, though occasionally five.
The Studio retains ownership of the property, so if Disney wants to they can put Orville on Disney+ after the season has finished airing (Hulu might be more likely).

I think they're different enough that they aren't really in direct competition. I'd be more worried if CBS bought Fox.

I liked Alara Kitan but they really didn't give her much to do on the show except break doors down, now I'm sad she's leaving
Agreed. I think Alara's one of the most interesting character of the show. She shines in both 'Command Performance' and 'Firestorm' last season and I was looking forward to see what more she can do in the new season.
Her final appearance is supposed to be in an episode called 'Home,' which was supposed to be the second episode of season 2 until the recently announced schedule change.
Let's hope they won't give Alara the 'Tasha Yar treatment' so Halston can returns if she changes her mind later

If they can rearrange episodes at will, it means the return of the 42-minute reset too!
