Resets don't bother me in a show which tells self- contained stories. That sort of thing would bother me on Westworld.
Stand-alones require storytelling focus and a particular discipline that soap operas don't.
Well, given the way the business worked at the time, self-contained stories probably made it possible for Trek to become successful.Yep.
Many people seem to forget that "Where No Man Has Gone Before" was the third aired episode of Star Trek. "The Corbomite Maneuver" was the first shot and tenth or eleventh aired. Didn't seem to hurt it in the long run.
If they can rearrange episodes at will, it means the return of the 42-minute reset too!

Darn, I thought it was Disco.Nah, it's Kelvin.![]()
That must be why I see a different person when I look in the mirror. But Disco is Prime, because visuals apparently aren't canon. Or something.
They were, but it appears they broke up some months ago.
Halston seems to date a new guy now, and perhapsalso making an exit from 'The Orville' as well,

Man, I just love Pharell, don't you? And the way Charlie just casually flings a protective arm around Halston is total freaking goals. In fact, the only thing that would make this clip better would be if Bella Thorne showed up to attempt the same party trick herself, and then somehow messed the whole thing up.
Nah, it's Kelvin.![]()
Or are the visuals in tos not canon? But Disco is Prime, because visuals apparently aren't canon. Or something.
Or are the visuals in tos not canon?
That makes sad thinking about it.I don't think the original Star Trek is canon at all. I've said all along I believe the overall plan is for them to eventually do their own version of TOS.
That makes sad thinking about it.
