The Orville first review

Spoiler alert--
Because it deals with two guys, you know, doing it.
Oh wait--there's the alien pheromone escape clause.
Never mind.

I take it you missed the whole Bortus/Clyden relationship? MacFarlane is a liberal, none of his shows have been sunk because of the acknowledgement that gay people exist.

Good to know. I missed the pilot and have been boycotting the show because I didn't want to have to pay for All-Access or whatever the heck it's called.

It's interesting to look back at those first reviews and see how the critics ended up being wrong. This is why you only trust sci-fi critics when it comes to new genre stuff. Well you can't trust them either because everyone has different tastes but you do feel like you might at least get a more acurate review.

I suppose I am good with both Orville and STD. I just have to convince myself that while Orville is written by the Star Trek alumni, STD is a product of a corporate situation where CBS/Viacom owns part of the franchise and Paramount owns another part. Paramount, I believe, owns the rights of the original television series (plural).

CBS owns the franchise in its entirety. All the trademarks are registered to CBS.

That must be way the remastered TOS and TNG episodes have the Paramount logo removed and replaced with the CBS one. Or why the novels based on the first five shows removed the Paramount logo and replaced it with the CBS logo. I can go on, but I think the point's been made.

You seem to have confused the matter. Paramount still co-owns the Trek movies, but not the TV shows. All Star Trek is 100% owned by CBS, regardless if it's TV or movies.

I wish that the remastered episodes of both shows replaced the copyright notices in the end credits with '©2010 CBS Studios, Inc' but that's just me.

Has anyone ordered season 1 yet? I did a preorder with Amazon they sent email saying it had shipped now they are saying there's going to be an unspecified delay.

So will it come out on blu-ray and not just dvd? Does it have any special features on it?
