I don't think Reno Floyd is the same as the original Reno? The Reno I'm referring to was a Scotsman, who used to post here circa 2000.
They could be the same I suppose, I don't keep up to date with the board too much these days.

They definitely weren't the same person. Reno was the one who had a movie review site (and Red Quacker guest reviewed "You've Got Mail" on it.)

I remember Scourge mentioning that he lives in Japan in every post, leading eventually to Red Quacker (yes, him again) posting a "Scourge's constant 'I live in Japan' crap is getting on my nerves" complaint thread in QSF.

The old board had that list of every poster who received a warning or suspension so you knew who was gone and when they were coming back.

I don't think that anyone can disagree that QSF was the funniest forum back in the day... that shit that went down in there far exceeded whatever insanity people could conjure up in Misc.

DEA poked his head in a couple years ago. And yeah, I haven't seen Lyoness in a very long time. She migrated to Terran way back when, but I don't think she's even active over there anymore. Santa? You heard from her lately?

DEA the last I knew (3-4 years ago) had a son and a complicated real life to deal with and less time for the internet. I don't know what has happened since then. I may try to track down an email address and find out. I still have his name and last known address somewhere so I may try to Facebook him and see if he's around.

Lyoness I think had even more complicated real life problems. Unfortunately I have no way to contact her at all to know what happened. I used to but I think the information I have for her is no longer valid.

I've been here since May 2001. Not a newb, but not an "oldie" either. I remember TGT as Mr. Stinky Pants, though I don't recall him being The Great Mombo Chicken.

You know, I thought I had a pretty good memory of our past members, but I actually can't figure out who this was. Someone remind me!

If I had to guess, I would say scourge. But I mostly remember him for being the depressed and self-deprecating. It's been a while. The last I knew he married a Japanese woman and was living happily.

Yeah, my memory of scourge chimes very much with yours. I don't him posting odd pics of himself, but maybe I just don't remember that...

Wow, good to see alot of the old faces.

I registered in August of 2001 (as Vash, a username I kept until about three or so years ago - some of you who have not been around for a while might remember me as that) after lurking for about 6 months. I posted mainly in the VOY forum and the DS9 forum for a long time - occasionally in Misc. and SFF as well. I didn't even know the lounges existed for about a year after joining as you may recall there was a tricky way of getting to them on Big Blue.

I joined Jammer in modding the DS9 forum in January of 2003 and we are both still mods of that forum...the only forum on the board which has experieced zero mod turnover since board inception. But seriously - why would I ever give up that gig? STILL love to talk about that show!

Been modding Trek XI as well for a while - I think almost 2 years. Wow, time flies around here!

Anyway, it's really nice to see some of the old names around here. In many ways, this board has changed alot over the years, but in many ways it's still the same and I hope some of you 'oldies' stick around!

I think that 'tirade' occurred as a result of the incident digits mentioned early in this thread - that whole 'Storm Rucker Does Voyager' incident. Might still hold the record for the most warnings issued for a single incident...although I might have come close in a Trek XI thread earlier this year.

As for da Woim, I believe he left about 3 - 4 years ago as a result of a hacking incident. He'd put up with alot of crap over the years, and when his account finally got hacked he reached his limit and just split. I used to email him off-board, but I doubt I still have that email address as I've changed computers a few times since then. Digits might have more info on him....but wow...I really liked that guy. When I got here, he was my favorite mod for a really long time. I thought he was hilarious. Plus, he didn't let the VOY gang beat me up too bad for liking BOTH DS9 and VOY when I was a n00b.

^ So that's what happened. I'd always believed his disappearance was somehow related to that tornado that hit his area - was afraid he might have lost his home or something. I'm glad to hear it had nothing to do with that.

I am still waiting to find somebody who managed to save that topic... what I wouldn't give to read it again.

da woim just disappeared one day. After he was gone for a while, they had no choice but to give me a new co-mod. He later came online briefly and told me he had suffered a head injury as a result of a carjacking/robbery attempt. He said he was hit with a lead pipe. After that one communication, I never heard from him again. Sounds like there are several stories out there, but that's what he told me.

He was a great dude. Very funny.

And yes, the amazing tirade was after the Night of a Thousand Warnings, courtesy of Storm Rucker. I have seen it re-posted on here before, so someone has it. I believe he and I still hold the board record for warnings in a thread (10).
