As the Emergency Moderating Hologram, Holdfast was part of the original ubb software. When Christian made the switch to vBulletin, he elected not to upgrade to the newer, blonder Mark II as Holdfast had been running 24/7 and accumulated many unique memories, subroutines, personality traits, and clothes.

But can he sing opera??

"... la donna e mobile, qual piuma a vento, muta d'accento, e di pensiero..."

(not so's you'd want to listen to it! )

Robert Picardo, is that you?

Hm, can anyone post in here? I just realised I completely missed my 9th anniversary of this place. How scary is that. Still post in the Doctor who and Lost forums sometimes but I just became a mod at www.mactalk.com.au and so I'm spending nearly all my online time there :)

Good to see a few old names in this thread however...

I joined in May 2001 to post a couple of thoughts on the upcoming Enterprise series. I lurked around here for years before and still am more of a lurker than a poster. I get a kick out of the noobie admirals that think they have to post on every thread to increase their count. These kids crack me up. I think we had better discussions when no one here worried about such things. I was born in the sixties and my first memory of television was Trek. It made a lasting impression on me. I enjoy reading the serious posts here. I remember what it was like for us fans in the days before the internet, every little bit of information cost us. Buying Starlog magazines, going to conventions, joining fan clubs and all the books. The information at our finger tips for free today is amazing. It is almost too much. There is was almost nothing secret left before the last movie. I remember trying to find out anything before TMP and the other early movies and it was really what ever they wanted you to know. I for one want to thank you TrekToday for helping all us fans with our Trek addiction and giving us a place to go where someone else might know what you are talking about.

I see I wasn't the only person stepping through users 1-10 to see who they were. Amusingly, users 8 and 9 registered in 99, had less than couple of hundred posts each, and both posted in the last day or so.

I'm number 37 it seems...

Yup 7 years and 3 months since I first signed up for Big Blue.

Does anyone remember KlingonMyBallz?
No...noone remembers him. He is forgotten and will remain so. :shifty:

Who was that dude who kept posting really sad pictures of himself (like the one of his upper body...err...folds) and professed undying love for Leia?

You know, I thought I had a pretty good memory of our past members, but I actually can't figure out who this was. Someone remind me!

I'm old and getting grouchier already.

I date back before the Robot Holocaust, Dec 1999, but I was actually lurking here earlier.

RAMA

 I hate that song now, Had to play it for my Sax Grade :shifty:

I remember posting a long diatribe against the trolls inside the mod lounge and then the trolls somehow broke into that and posted it for all to see. That was a bit of drama back then!

I remember reading all those Briefing Room leaks. That was entertaining stuff when I was 15.

Yeah it was all very important to me... when I was in college and I didn't have any friends or a girlfriend :D

If I had to guess, I would say scourge. But I mostly remember him for being the depressed and self-deprecating. It's been a while. The last I knew he married a Japanese woman and was living happily.

I'm 1070th but this is my second user account. I found this place in 1999 just in time to read up as DS9 went into its final episodes. I signed up under the username, five seconds, I think. Used it from time to time but I pretty much stopped visiting over 2000 - 2001 and then rejoined under a new username at the end of 2001. Really only started getting heavily involved in posting and stuff in the last few years, probably 2005/6 onwards.

Reno Floyd was banned, but Twain appears from time to time.
I don't think Reno Floyd is the same as the original Reno? The Reno I'm referring to was a Scotsman, who used to post here circa 2000.
They could be the same I suppose, I don't keep up to date with the board too much these days.
