Well, I ordered it from Amazon since I'm loyal to them, have an account there and I could never bring myself to buy from Walmart. ;) If Amazon lowers the prices they usually pass on that lower price to pre-orders as well even if pre-orders were made at a higher price.

$90 isn't too unreasonable all things considered.

I'll just pick mine up at the local Walmart.

Huh. Looks like US$ and CA$ are more-or-less the same, could have sworn there was a few dollar difference there but it's more or less the same.

So that is odd the Canadian Amazon is selling the set so much cheaper.

Actually the Canadian dollar has been generally higher than the U.S. buck for quite awhile. Sometimes it dips just below for a short time then climbs right back up again.

My guess would be that Amazon could likely price the Blu-Ray set around the same $80 or so.

Obviously, though I would buy it at any price, I'm going to see what the best deal is before pre-ordering it. I'm slightly surprised at the $90 figure at Amazon, I expected $70-75.

RAMA

I am in no hurry to pre-order, but I will ultimately go with the cheapest price (even if it is WalMart, though I hate that place). I would not be surprised if Amazon lowers the price to be more competitive.

I expect the Amazon price will drop. That's pretty common. When I pre-ordered Game of Thrones S1 on Blu-ray it started at $50 and by the time it shipped was down to $35.

I know this is not a big issue for most people but I really hope the blu-rays have scene selection menus like the DVDs did. But since the sampler didn't I'm not holding my breath :sigh:

Personally, I'd rather they save the disc space so we get better video quality. If I really want to skip to another chapter, there's a button on my remote for that. :)

I don't think putting a chapter selection option on a 50GB disc is really going to take up all that much space. ;)

I'm hesitant to put a pre-order in. It's released July 24th and I'm moving to the States on August 3rd. That should be plenty of time for me to receive the order but there's always the chance I might miss it.

The price will go down i will wait till then. I finally bought the sampler disc at Walmart for $14. I enjoyed the HD and the sound improvements. Can't wait to we get to BOBW on Blu-Ray.

I'm more interested in seeing what they do with Yesterday's Enterprise, since you could argue that replacing the VFX in most of that episode would improve it.

It was available for that at Amazon from the start.

Other than maybe the wormhole effect and ship explosions, I don't really see a whole lot that'll need replacing in that episode.
