I love Paul Giamatti. I appreciate that he is a fellow DS9 fan. I liked his performance. I appreciate Nus Braka. I’m going to out on a lim here on this Nus Braka appreciation thread. I thought that his monologue the “I hate you” one, reminded me of Heath Ledger’s Joker.
I think Nus Braka was very entertaining.
Nus Braka was part and parcel of the entire theme of the season. He was Caleb Mir's counterpoint. Both Nus and Caleb had rough lives and essentially had to fare for themselves as children. However, Caleb had a loving relationship with a mother who loved and protected him and created a moral center, even if he had to find that center again. Whereas, Nus was raised by a hateful man who beat him, taught him to exploit others and eventually allowed his hate to destroy him.
