I'm very interested in the story of Anisha Mir and what her role in the story is going to be. You don't hire for Tatiana Maslany for a minor role as the perfect mother. However, would they really go with her as surprise villain? I'm very intrigued by her story even if I also question elements of it.

* How do you starve if one of your companions has a starship? I can see a planet or community starving but not a person. Have they no replicators?
* How close was her relationship with Nus Braka? They escaped fifteen years later? What happened afterward?
* Was the Federation's punishment of her way too harsh and was she sentenced for felony theft to 15 years or did she have a much harsher sentence for other matters?
* Did she have a plan at all for her son escaping and then never meeting with him after? They had a visitation rights plan that ended up with she and him not seeing each other for a decade and a half as well as him as a homeless orphan living on the run. Not a good plan.

So much to discuss!

I think this will all be explored as the series progresses.
I hope we will see them reunited by the end of season 1, so they can move the story forward. It would be a bit ridiculous to have him searching for his mother while sat on Earth studying at the same time over multiple seasons.

I don't think she was the unwilling or reluctant accomplice 15 years prior, I think she was the mastermind which is why Braka is so enraged at the Mirs. That will be the big reveal in the finale, its like the old Whedon shows had the Little Bad and then the Big Bad - Braka is the Big Bad in Season 1, but the Little Bad in the overall context.

I also think the bigger twist will be whomever Calebs dad is, and that it will somehow tie into Ake's presumed dead son. Will Ake be Calebs grandmother in the end?

My hope is that while I don't need her to be the mastermind, I'd like Nus Braka to have given his over the top villain performance at the sentencing because he was willingly taking the heat for her.

i have this feeling when anisha and caleb see each other again she will tell her son that she was the one who told chancellor ake to bring caleb to earth in order to get out of more trouble and live his life happy
