I loved the first Shaterverse trilogy. I also loved Spectre, but not so much the rest of the MU trilogy.

I'll admit, I enjoyed the Shatnerverse books quite a good deal. It was kinda fanwank, but not in a way that made you retch. You knew it was ridiculous, but the whole time you were like HOLY FUCK THIS IS SO AWESOME.

I wish Shatner had mastered this as early as Star Trek V.

I think it's the same reason I love the New Frontier series. It's so over-the-top, but it's fun! Awesome characters, entertaining stories, and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Well for me its not that, I just dated so many people that were consumed with video games that I would literally sit there bored out of my mind while they played them. Or I would genuinely try and ( games like x-box and x-box360) I would have my character all twisted up backed onto a rock or a wall or something because I couldnt figure out the controls. I am just not meant to play the stupid things. They frustrate me.
