I want to get the Dr Who dvds, but their so expensive at amazon. They have good commentaries on them?
There are some very good commentaries, and I've just discovered (thanks to a fellow poster) that there are a second set of commentaries still available as streaming audio from the BBC Doctor Who website. I have series one and two on dvd (which I managed to get for less than $60 each). They're well worth the money: Nice box sets, with commentary on every episode, 15 minute "cut-downs" of the making-of show,
Doctor Who:Confidential, and some other nifty little extras like outtakes and Billie Piper's and David Tennant's "Video Diaries".
Personally, I really enjoyed the Video Diaries. Piper's were cute, maybe 15 or 20 minutes of footage, and Tennant truly convayed a real and true nerdiness with about 2 hours of giddy, rambling footage.
Anyway, now I'm done advertising.
I'm debating whether or not to buy series 3. There were a few really outstanding episodes, and I'd like to see the extras, but I wouldn't be broken hearted if I never again saw the last three episodes of that series.
