The Night Crew

The party's called, "The quick brown fox got drunk at my lazy party"

I even invited doubleohfive

I got the notification on my Blackberry while I was having coffee after seeing The Dark Knight again tonight... Literally looked at it and said to myself, "Only Philo..."

You know if I was in town I'd be there. Throw a few back for me, willya?

I thought you might appreciate that. :D

And I will! :techman:

I am watching Firefly, starting with the pilot. I've seen it so many times, but this is the first time on my HDTV and my PS3! It looks soooooooo good!

My roommate and I were just talking about Firefly. I was trying to explain to him why Doctor Who is so awesome, and was likening the new series to Buffy (as many are apt to do) what with the brilliant mix of camp and drama, and we went from there. Speaking of Doctor Who, and of commentaries, that is precisely what I am doing at this late hour.

I was a bit productive today though. I spent most of the afternoon in the Archive, a local coffee shop about a 7 minute walk from my place. They're great, free internet, good coffee/tea, and they play movies on a projector. I wrote several thrilling cover letters and writing samples.

^My "Doctor Who" DVDs don't work in my PS3! That was what I was planning to watch tonight.

Damn Chinese bootlegs...

^True! I really enjoyed the commentary for "The Doctor's Daughter" in which David Tennant, Russel T., and Alice Troughten started ad-libbing a dub.
I want to get the Dr Who dvds, but their so expensive at amazon. They have good commentaries on them?
There are some very good commentaries, and I've just discovered (thanks to a fellow poster) that there are a second set of commentaries still available as streaming audio from the BBC Doctor Who website. I have series one and two on dvd (which I managed to get for less than $60 each). They're well worth the money: Nice box sets, with commentary on every episode, 15 minute "cut-downs" of the making-of show, Doctor Who:Confidential, and some other nifty little extras like outtakes and Billie Piper's and David Tennant's "Video Diaries".
Personally, I really enjoyed the Video Diaries. Piper's were cute, maybe 15 or 20 minutes of footage, and Tennant fully conveyed a real and true nerdiness with about 2 hours of giddy, rambling footage.
Anyway, now I'm done advertising. :)

I'm debating whether or not to buy series 3. There were a few really outstanding episodes, and I'd like to see the extras, but I wouldn't be broken hearted if I never again saw the last three episodes of that series.

BBC site has some commentaries? I'll have to go check them out, you rock!

Oh, and about series 3, I really want to hear a commentary for Blink, the others, meh

^Well, one of "Blink"'s commentaries is up on the site,
Series 4: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/s4/misc/commentaries.shtml
Series 3: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/sounds/index.shtml
Series 2: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/sounds/index2006.shtml
but I don't think there are any for series one. And remember, there are a different set of commentaries on the dvds.

Now I don't know which to listen and watch first, blink or turn left. Such a hard decision.

It's great that they have them on the site, huh?! They put them up as they aired the episodes for series two and three, though I didn't check for four. They also offer them as podcasts, though only for a short time after each one is released.
