You know, one of the first things that came to my mind after watching Star Trek tonight had more to do with TNG than anything else. I was asking myself, a friend of mine, and some people who saw the movie in the same theater, who will they get to play Picard in this universe in 20 years? I guess being born and raised in the 90's when TNG was going strong and it was so freaking cool to see what was going on in the 24th century, I wondered who could play a good Picard. My guess, and maybe it's because of my Doctor Who love lately, Chris Eccleston as Picard and David Tennant as Riker. Of course that would mean Riker would have to be scottish but that's fine. This movie opened the door to many new possibilities and a Star Trek fresh start. Canon be darned.
Anyone feel the same way, or have any ideas on who could play Picard in Abrams universe? Might be fun to consider.
