The New USS Discovery....

I love Yorktown! I think it's a safe bet we won't get anything that extravagant in Discovery, but to be honest - ships, stations, shuttles and even locations.... I'm really happy to see something new; not the usual stock models and whatevers left in the warehouse.

One thats got me curious is Starfleet Command: We'll likely see it, but what will they use this time?

That astroid base design dates back to Planet of the Titans and I think TMP.

They used it as the basis for the Tholian base in 'In A Mirror Darkly'

I recall comments on Twitter from someone who visited the sets seeing a large concrete wall with "STARFLEET COMMAND" stencilled on it.

Thats whats made me sure we'll see it. There's always the off chance it's a Command building elsewhere (Starfleet Command surely must have offices outwith the one base!) but.... thats too much of an off chance.

I quite liked a lot of the Kelvin universe Command buildings (and the Academy!) and much like Starbases and ships, I'd like to see what this team can come up with for Earths look.

I like the saucer of the one on the left--but the secondary hull of the one on the right--with its nacelles.--but raised.
CGI artist--if you please?

Oh you guys you crack me up.

You know what I meant. What the visual effects would look like how we saw the Enterprise D separate how would the Discovery look in that sequence.

Curious now which one of these @Timo thought was the NX. None of them ever looked like an NX class to me.

It was the E-E, I'm afraid - the terracing on the saucer made it look like the Akiraprise superstructure to me.

I'm sort of thinking San Francisco is such a prestigious piece of real estate that they tear it down and rebuild it about twice a decade so that every major architect from every member world gets a shot at doing the SF HQ. Or then they've built three extra Golden Gates to accommodate the growing need for facilities with a view...

...The room with a bridge view is another Trek classic that, like transporters and phasers and the briefly glimpsed Constitution class ship, needs to make an appearance so that DSC can be counted as Trek.
