The New USS Discovery....

I find it odd thats rarely considered - with the amount of different races and styles within the Federation, each one would have an influence. Not sure why everything has to be so human-centric :/

In the Rise of the Federation novels, TrekLit offers explanations. The bridge design is from the Andorians (compare consoles facing the captain/away from the captain on NX-01, Kumari, NCC-1701).

Also, Earth ships have ideal shape for multi purpose missions thanks to the saucer. Tellarites only byy their ships from Arkonian ship-makers, Vulcans retire their fleet, and so do the Andorians later.

Because humans are awesome. Obviously.
Said no one who's met us :p

Thats four. The Federation had 150ish by Next Gen era? Thats a lot of different viewpoints and styles to bring on board, each culture bringing their own influence and design points. Even within the non-canon explination, there's still wiggle room for more than just the same recycle elements.

Of course! Everyone wants to be like us, it's what makes Star Trek Great!
We have failings, of course, and we talk about those, but we have "POTENTIAL" or some such nonsense.
I often find myself revisiting this quote:

They really should have taken this into its logical conclusion and made the entire crew Andorians or Bolians.
I love it. This is how I pictured a modern trek show would look. I don't see Trekkies complaining about the overuse of gray and red in the tos enterprise, or all the weird colored gels lighting the wall.

Ah human exceptionalism...... We are the most awesome species /s

Lister: " Why does it have to be such a big deal? Why can't it be like, like, human beings are a planetary disease? Like the Earth's got German measles or facial herpes, right? And that's why all of the other planets give us such a wide berth. It's like, 'Oh, don't go near Earth! It's got human beings on it, they're contagious!' "

The bridge seems to be a direct evolution of that of the Columbia, NX-02 - great continuity there!

That is, getting those primary plasma conduits rerouted off the bridge appears to be a late development in Starfleet engineering. And not even something that lasts, although a century later they will reroute them through control consoles instead.

The "I'm King of the Universe!" image is pretty. And definitely something I'd try out, preferably at high warp.

I'll say it again: They're building up to the inevitable mirror universe episode! And thus, the ISS Discovery will be red wherever the original is blue.

Kind of like the Phoenix / Dark Phoenix thing.

Well at least we'll be able to accurately tell the size of the ship based on the people standing on it. ;)
I was thinking the exact same thing! Assuming that the pic is accurate, the saucer rim is way thinner than on Connie, indicating that the ship is not particularly huge. Good.
