Yes, yes, I like the new redesign. Now what about resigning the interior?
I am 99.9% sure that we'll see a new TARDIS interior pic, possibly sooner rather than later.

Now that's what I'm interested in seeing! I expect many, many hyperbolic hissy fits to happen when it's revealed...no matter what the design is.Yes, yes, I like the new redesign. Now what about resigning the interior?

As far as these photos are concerned: it looks like its made of PVC. It also looks like a cheap ass replica that someone knocked together for an exhibition, or something.
Even the Sonic Screwdriver's had a makeover!

True dat. It's growing on me now, actually. The windows will take a bit more getting used to though.
I'm hoping Smith's Doctor isn't going to be the "fighting" type. I always admired that about the Doctor, especially in the newer series, how he never actually engages in a physical fight, chosing brains over muscle (although looking at Smith, he might be knocked over by a gust of wind).
Steve Moffat said:...you've got to give the Doctor an appropriate thing to fight – if it's just 'evil', then all you have is a war, and the Doctor isn't much of a warrior. I would prefer Captain Jack or the Brigadier or someone like that if you have a war – the Doctor retires to the lab and whoever he's hired to be the gung-ho one brings the bazookas out. So to keep the Doctor at the centre at the drama you should have a mystery, and to keep the story alive, you keep the mystery going for as long as possible - only solve it at the end of the story, at the last possible moment, in an ingenious and clever way that demonstrates the Doctor's brilliance.
Although, after seeing these images today, im beginning to think there is a reason, a Moffat reason, to these changes, especially the Tardis exterior. Not a personal production reason, but a story reason as to why, as i said in the other thread, its Moffat were talking about and anythings possible with him.
The sonic screwdriver, well, it looks similar to the old one, but its definately not the laser screwdriver, its way too small. Its a nice little change, i suppose it prevents things frim getting a little stale really
