I'd have to see a better pic of it. Looks bulky! But, hey new is good for me. I love Doctor Who specifically because ever couple of years...REBOOT!

Bulky is good, IMHO. The current model, with its retractable head, keeps getting cocked about as far as the toys go... they are either the right size but with crap LEDs or have good LEDs but no sound effect - the best replica I've found so far is River Song's future version which is excellent, primarily because they had a bit more space to work with. The Master's laser screwdriver replica is reasonable as well. Since the emitter end of this new sonic seems "fixed" in place, they should be able to squeeze a lot of functionality into the toy version.

Eccleston and Tennant's Sonic Screwdriver were almost same as the TARDIS interior design, coral type.

This one give us an idea how will the new interior design look like. Sound like we are not getting to see coral again.

Seriously, seems to me to be somewhat steampunk; a lot of copper.

As he has pointed out himself, Moffat has used the SS more and for more things that aren't screwdriver related than anyone on the series including RTD.

Hell, his original script for The Empty Child had a mini-toothbrush pop out of it. And no that's not a joke.

Not only that but that those pictures have a Harry Potter feel to it for some reason, maybe becuse there both young looking, I don't know.

I wonder if those pics are from a shoot in action or take during a down moment? Cause if the former, it's almost like the Doctor is showing off a new toy and could imply that a lot has changed in one shot for him, if the latter then it's the actor showing off his new toy. Either way, it looks like they're having fun.

My guess is the latter, since they're apparently filming episode 4-5. That seems a bit late to introduce the sonic screwdriver.

That's never bothered me. I've always seen The Doctor as a kind of magical character anyway (and all the fan complaining about the screwdriver "saving the day" seems kind of overblown too).

As for the new one, I like the new color scheme, but the design seems a little blocky and basic to me. But we'll have to see what it looks like up close...
