There we go! The F is an Odyssey class, as many have hoped, and many have feared, and some have said would never ever happen XD
I'm not big into the tech side of the franchise - it's cool, but I don't tend to dwell much beyond 'hey, that looks neat' - so I don't have an issue with this. In fact, hey, that looks neat.
That screen cap is from the Season 3 NYCC trailer. So yes. https://www.trekbbs.com/threads/nycc-season-3-trailer.312447/
That competition winner all those years ago could have never imagined their design being on TV Trek! I'm glad it's the same - I know ONL is not canon but having two established Enterprise-F's would have driven me INSANE!
It's never going to be my favourite Enterprise, but it's been around for so long I kind of accepted it would be canon at some point.
Yay, the Odyssey-class Enterprise-F is now canon! I’m happy and surprised and excited. I am GRATEFUL for Adam Ihle who conceived this design. Thomas Marrone for realizing it in its current forms. Ben Robinson for getting it made as models.
ugh. Not a fan of the design AT ALL. Was really hoping they would stick with the E-E. I mean, good for whoever designed it. But I just have never been a big fan of any STO ships.
My guess is we see either Seven or Worf in command of the F at end of the season. My guess is that the next show will be called Star Trek: To Boldly Go and will explore from Picard forward. It'll also involve Seven and Jurati's borg faction.
Thomas Marrone, Associate Art Director and lead ship nerd for STO has been teasing an Odyssey remodel for the last couple months, and now we finally know why https://twitter.com/thomasthecat/status/1574253456516296704 https://twitter.com/thomasthecat/status/1578871459597860865
I like the Odyssey class, the only issue I have is the gap in the neck. That's really my only issue, otherwise, I generally like it's profile. You know what would be neat, if "Harry Kim" was the Captain of the Enterprise-F.
