The Muppets (2011)

Clearly, this movie is going to be a CGI fest about superheroes, isn't it?

:shifty:

Indeed, RUINED, RUINED, I mean just ruined the muppets....

In all seriousness....

"Ser harrew t'mer writtle frund." <flame>

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

And I have to agree, a sweedish track on the blueray would be hilarious, put it with the American Eagle guy and Beeker and your set for something almost as good as the movie.

I just about peed myself when that scene came up!

I see what looks kinda like half of Kermit's head on the far right, overlapping the gap between tree trunks (at about the level of Semel's shoulder). I'm not sure that's what it really is, though.

Oh, really?

Well ofcourse if you have the high quality/larger version of the poster you can spot Kermit.

The one Timby posted was too small

I still think that's the best non character non artsy poster that I've seen for a mainstream movie in quite some time, which is a kind of a sad thought in a way. Posters aren't what they used to be anymore.

It's a nice idea, but if you didn't already know what it was, you wouldn't give it a second look to notice any clues. It would just look like a generic movie. You're not going to notice Kermit. You're not going to give the title a second thought. You're going to see it and move along. There is no real indication that there is something more to it, and the clues are too subtle for the average observer to notice in passing.
It's a nice idea if you already know it's a Muppets movie, but it's not advertising to anyone new.

Well, yeah, but I assume this poster is mostly circulating online where the parody trailers and stealth trailers have been out for a little bit. In other words, they're not putting the poster up on subway cars where people might be confused.

Apparently, Jason Segel burst into tears when they brought in the actual Kermit puppet for the first table read, because it was fulfilling a lifelong dream for him. There's going to be a ton of sincerity in this movie.

Oh, and Brett MacKenzie from Flight of the Concords is writing some of the songs and music. Can't wait to hear his lyrics coming out of the Muppets' mouths.

Also Doctor Teeth fuck yes.

With the prominence of the banjo, I wonder if they will have Kermit perform his song from the first movie? (The Rainbow Song)

That's a great poster. It does convey the tone perfectly, matching the first trailer. But it does still puzzle me why they'd show a trailer to the Jackass crowd, one that advertises itself on the whole as a romantic comedy, unless of course there are jackass style jokes in the movie itself.

I think they're advertising it under the assumption that everybody loves the Muppets, regardless of what "crowd" you belong to.

"Just One Person"? From the musical "Snoopy"? Nah, I think the Rainbow Song is more iconic.

Eh, it's been in a ton of Muppets recordings, which is why I tossed it out there.

I think they're advertising it under the assumption that everybody loves the Muppets, regardless of what "crowd" you belong to.

As well they should, because anyone who doesn't love the Muppets is a soulless monster.
