The movie Contact..

Granted, I didn't read it until I was in high school, but I was likewise swept away by all of the scientific ideas presented in the book. I had already seen the film but the film made me hungry for more and I knew Sagan would deliver on that front.

Not to get all pedantic, but how can you be disappointed in something for which you zero expectations? ;)

Touche :)
I try to formulate It better, damn english language ;)
I am more interested in first contact with an allien race and how Earth handles lt.

Well in all fairness the latter is the only one an author could even hope to depict intelligently.
There's so many unknown variables with the former that any attempt would by necessity be a work of pure imagination and fantasy, which was never Carl Sagan's bag.
He was a scientist and a science communicator. A large portion of 'Cosmos' wasn't about the science itself so much as the given science's impact on humanity and the circumstances around which it arose. It was as much a history of the science of the cosmos as it was an exploration of it. 'Contact' essentially takes this approach and applies it to a "what if" future scenario.
