Game The Most Disliked Second Season Episode

There are always episodes in these games that come off early that make me want to vomit. Like, how does someone take "Aquiel" off before "The Doomsday Machine?" But, examples like that happen all the time.
If I know that I'm not likely to get another vote in a particular contest (because, say, I'm going to work or to dinner or to bed), and a weak episode that I happen to like is still on the board, sometimes I'll vote for that one over a stronger episode because I'm reasonably sure somebody will vote to save the stronger episode before the game is over. Whereas, if I don't vote for the weaker one, it just may lose, and I like it well enough not to want that to happen. You may notice that VOY: "The Fight" has one win in the 2022 rounds -- that's because I got in quickly enough to save it in all the other rounds it appeared in. I genuinely like the weird scene where all the characters are speaking over one another, using words from their dialogue earlier in the episode. Apparently I'm the only one!

Isn't that considered tactical voting? ;)

Regarding "THE FIGHT", I will say the idea of Chaotic Space is unique. I just think the execution of the episode was not good.

Well, I think what we really want to avoid is the stated elimination reason being something tactical -- that misses the point, when people aren't talking about the episode itself when they save it. But we haven't really had that problem in awhile. As long as people are saving an episode they truly love and saying something they love about it, I think that's fair play.

(Or, to revise that for the end of a round: as long as people are saving an episode they find less bad than the others remaining and saying something they find less bad about it...)

I mean, for me, so many of these lists... there could be 100 episodes, and I'll feel like there's a 75-way tie for my favorite, so there's a lot of random whim involved in which ones of those I end up saving. Sometimes I find myself feeling particularly fondly towards an episode others hate, and wondering why exactly that is. Is it because I'm always sympathetic to the underdog? (As if the poor episode knows it has a bad rep, and needs SOMEBODY to love it) Or is that because it feels "better" simply to see qualities others don't? Is thinking of it like that a form of tactical voting?

But then I remind myself that "Sub Rosa" and "Basics" and (recently) "Shades Of Gray" are among my most rewatched episodes, and I go ahead and save them anyway...

Yes. I was just screwing with you, hence the smiling face.
I thought you were, and then I went back and read @Sakonna 's rules at the beginning of the thread, and my infinite overthinking drive kicked in.... (Don't you hate when that happens?)
As long as people are saving an episode they truly love and saying something they love about it, I think that's fair play.
Whew! ;)

I totally thought "Perpetual Infinity" would take this one. But I do haaaaaaate "Shockwave, Part II", so that works too. :bolian:

I liked how well this played. I'm kind of surprised to discover lists this long still work as games. That makes me wonder what else would work -- an entire series? one list that's every episode and movie of the whole franchise?

But let's do a short one next: "The Most Disliked Wedding Episode." Hope to see you all there!

What about a ranking of every episode featuring a space battle? Might be tough to pull together...but it would be a fun game.

Maybe a list of episodes with short titles (5 letters or less). Q Who, Qpid, Arena, E2, Bem, Home, I Borg, others).

Would you believe most of these list ideas already exist (at various states of completion)?

Or episode titles that contain somebody's name? Unless that's been done recently?
This one we literally have two versions -- I made a list that was just proper names only, @Farscape One suggested we expand it to every title that contains a proper name, I wasn't sure which was the right one to run -- but now that you have also generated Farscape's same idea, we'll do that version. :bolian: I'll run that one soon... if not next, within the next week.

That reminds me, we also have a "Latin Titles" list from before I've been meaning to resurrect...

Or most disliked "Oh shit, an alien has taken over/replaced a crew member!" episode?
I'm working on cracking this one. It is truly one of my favorite Trek tropes, so I want to play this list! But Trek has soooooooo many kinds of alien possession and replacement and so on, it is tricky to figure out where to draw the line. But I'm determined to figure it out. :bolian:

Maybe a list of episodes with short titles (5 letters or less). Q Who, Qpid, Arena, E2, Bem, Home, I Borg, others).
I've also toyed around with the reverse of this -- episodes with the long poetic titles.
