Maybe we should all sit and watch the two episodes in queestion and discuss their merits?

I think Extinction is more shite. Genesis, Threshold, Extinction (not to mention Dear Doctor)... Trek writers sure have a weird idea about what evolution is and how it works!

^IIRC, the characters weren't evolving in "Extinction", but rather transforming into a completely different species.

Another vote for "Extinction", for the same reasons as stated in previous posts. Also, I found the post-transformation performances of the actors to be somewhat amusingly kooky.

Saving "Extinction." I loved that scene where the Archer/alien finds his dead civilization-- I thought it was beautifully acted and tragic.

I'll save Chosen Realm then. I liked that it showed how religion can be distorted, but didn't go out and say that ALL religion must be abandoned (*cough* Who Watches the Watchers *cough*). It also provided us with some info. for the overall Xindi Arc, which helps it somewhat.
