I never enjoy disagreeing with the wise DevilEyes, but the hatred levels for "The Emperor's New Cloak" have always felt a bit high to me. Yeah, it has some pretty glaring problems but I honestly think I prefer its bad band of schlock over the Jake plot in "The Muse".

You people are crazy, CRAZY for even including Sanctuary on this list! It's such a thought-provoking examination of real-world issues, certainly inspired to some degree by the Palestine conflict, that raises lots of interesting questions about Bajorans and the Star Trek ethos in general. Plus, it had great guest stars and a good character arc for Kira - why on Earth this would be considered bad is completely beyond me.

Sorry, folks--I like "Profit And Lace". Nilva was superb: ("HERE! Have a...Slug-O-Cola!!!" while shoving one in Nog's face)--and of course, when Quark/Lumba gets into character...he gets into character! One of my all-time favorite DS9 lines:
"Is it true? You're...a man?"
"Do I look like a man...?"

Rush, I agree that Profit and Lace isn't the worst of DS9. In fact, my choice for the series' worst didn't even make it onto this list (Let He Who Is Without Sin...).
And, I think Profit and Lace is a fairly average episode, probably around a four or five out of ten, up until the point Quark becomes a woman. Then it just nosedives, IMHO.

I'll add another vote for Sanctuary. I love Star Trek episodes about land ownership and all the issues surrounding it. I also really like Bajoran politics.

I have to go with Ferengi Love Songs. I liked that episode and it has the Grand Nagus in it, who could ask for more. The Nagus rules! Also, it was kind of a surprise writing, Quark and Rom's mother, Ishka/Moogie, getting romantically involved with the Nagus.
