My first vote for the DS9 Finals is "RETURN TO GRACE".

Episodes featuring Kira and Dukat should not even be in the Finals, much less win it. Damar gets his first appearance here, and we see a wonderful bond forming between Kira and Ziyal.

And also, NO season 4 episode should win the title.

I'm spoilt for choice. I'll vote for Return to Grace as it had the first appearance of Damar and the dialogue between Kira and Dukat was usually top-notch. Dukat always had a high opinion of himself, and it was fascinating that Kira was there to bring him back down to Earth.

And that's why Kira should have been the one to kill him.

I was very surprised that "Business As Usual" ended up at the bottom of season 5, so I'm giving it a point here. The weapons dealing and Quark's involvement made me really uncomfortable - I totally sided with Dax - and I'm glad he had an attack of the morals and managed to think his way out of the reprehensible situation. The guest stars were all brilliant, too!
Oh, and I love the B-story with O'Brien carting Kirayoshi around everywhere trying to get him to sleep, with Worf being the only one Yoshi would settle with

Yeah, it was an impossible decision to choose between A Simple Investigation and Business as Usual for the weakest for the S5 contest, as they're both great episodes.

I would have had more fun choosing between Ferengi Love Songs and Let He Who is Without Sin. But then if someone likes them then they save them. That's the charm.

 

[Qonundrum]

There's nothing fish-y about "Babel", or what does Douglas Adams have to do with this? Well, nothing actually as I like to go off on tangents*, but I like this early DS9 installment and, dang, the Bajoran scientists' came up with a whopper to create something effective against so many species - even their own as a whoopsie but they had a deadline, so it doesn't not work - which is by no means impossible for sure. If anything, having this be a season finale would have been more effective since that's when we'd expect someone or a gaggle of someones to be konked off out of abject rejection of a show they signed up for and then said "Whoops, this is crap, even the one tv show with that annoying red puppet is less annoying, so I want out." But I digress; this episode is still highest on my list of saves. You know which one I won't ever try to save, and that's deffo on this list fo sho. (Ugh, there's my form of aphasia, trying to do hipster shtick as it's soooo sophis'! ** )

Gotta love Miles' subplot as well.

Though I might have done symptoms other than aphasia, though the goal of making the viewer squirm still works...

* Like how my ex liked to go off with everyone in town and I got to pay for it too, but there I go digressing on a tangent again

Like a certain other game player, I rather like "BABEL" - well, most of it, anyway (something I did find odd was that anyone infected was immediately put to bed even though they seemed physically able. Of course, we later found out that there were immune system problems, so perhaps it was for the best). A particular highlight is Kira's somewhat unorthodox method of convincing Surmak Ren to help them

NO season 4 episode should be permitted to win this game. Plus the scene with Quark in Odo's quarters is a real highlight. This was another major cornerstone of the series... the Quark/Odo relationship. This was one of the best scenes between them in the series.
