Spoilers The Mandalorian Season 3

I've been watching through Clone Wars for the first time realizing a lot of characters I thought were new in Mandalorian actually came from Clone Wars. I'm curious if Moff Gideon was a preexisting character or not because he's pretty much the one I haven't come across yet.

Clone Wars has shown the darksaber make it to Maul, who was then bested by Palpatine, but it hasn't shown how it made its way to Moff Gideon after that. (I just started season 7).
No, Moff Gideon is a newly created character for 'The Mandalorian'. The only characters in the Mandoverse that originate from Clone Wars are Bo Katan, Ahsoka, and Cad Bane. (Side note: Cob Vanth comes from one of the very early canon novels, and Krrsantan is from the comics.)
Everyone else on the show(s) thus far that isn't instead carried over from the movies (Luke, Boba, Bib Fortuna, R5-D4 etc) is an original creation.

That said, I wouldn't be shocked if Gideon will now start to show up on things like 'Bad Batch' or even 'Andor' (much more likely the former than the latter) since he was an ISB agent of some rank as late as the Mandalorian Purge (about a year prior to ANH.) One assumes he got bumped up to Moff through a combination of a reward for mass genocide (Palps always appreciates that kind of thing) and Tarkin's death leading to an vacancy amongst the Moffs.

The last trailers before release usually reveal too much for my tastes, so I've gotten into the habit of avoiding promotion in the direct lead-up if I know I'm going to watch the show/movie anyway. I'll probably skip this one. Indeed, this may be where I go dark until the new season releases.

So no one here ever watches football? Probably a lot more eyes watching that than most shows they could advertise on and why advertise to the die-hards that will automatically be watching anyway?

I used to watch football, but I just can't anymore after I learned about all the brain inuries.
That's fair, I don't watch all that much myself but I bet they're not all that different from other people that watch those shows and movies. They do follow lots of useless statistics and minutiae and play fantasy games with their characters. :)

I gave it up for Lent...

...in 2014.

Well, the trailer for Solo did premiere during the Super Bowl back in 2018.
True enough. And I heard someone observe that Disney owns ABC and ESPN so it probably makes economic sense as well as trying to appeal to a larger audience. I find it moderately amusing.

Does that show that he has knee rockets now, like Boba Fett has?

Also I wonder if we will be getting flashbacks to what Din did before the Purge? He has to be old enough to have been working before that happened. I don't imagine he was a bounty hunter prior to the Purge, but worked with the Children of the Watch (traditionalist surviving branch of Death Watch), before the Empire cracked down on Bo's Rebels on Mandalor.
