We got our first bit of The Mandalorian Season 3 news, so I decided to go ahead and start a thread for it. Christopher Lloyd will be appearing in Season 3, in a currently unknown role. This is great news to me, I'm a huge fan of his. This will make him one of what I believe is only a handful of actors who have been in both Star Trek & Star Wars.
Star Wars got jealous of Lea Thompson directing Star Trek so they had to raise the stakes! I'm good with that.
Actually, there's a pretty decent amount these days. Even more so if you count actors who have done voice roles.
Really? I thought it was just George Takei, and maybe 3 or 4 other people. When did Lea Thompson direct Star Trek?
Screen Rant counts 15 actors and that is certainly not a complete list. Off the top of my head they've left out Clive Revill (Palpatine in the original version of ESB, Sir Guy in TNG QPid) and Deep Roy (one of the aliens in Jabba's palace on ROTJ, Keenser in the Kelvin movies). There's also two others which have done both after that list was compiled, Vanessa Marshall (Hera on Rebels, various guest characters on Lower Decks) and Dee Bradley Baker (Clone Troopers on the animated shows, Murf on Prodigy).
I remember reading that little tidbit in the Star Trek Encyclopedia which was very fun for me. Always liked that ESB Emperor.
Holy crap, I didn't realize Ki-Adi-Mundi was Bashir's dad, and completely forgot that Brent Spiner was on Rebels, and about most of those people really.
No. Season 3 didn't start filming until October 2021, so there was no way it would have come out in January.
What I think caused some confusion is there were people who thought season 3 was filming earlier last year, given Pedro Pascal was spotted in studio. But that was likely when his scenes in Book of Boba Fett were filmed.
Based on Season 2 probably towards the end of the year (December) would be my guess, but I do not know where they are with actually filming stuff.
If I recall filming was going to swap over to the Ahsoka series in either April or May (I imagine there will be some crossover/overlap of the two productions).
It would seem that season 3 has just wrapped filming. https://mobile.twitter.com/starwars...andalorian-season-3-reportedly-wraps-filming/
