Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

ETA: And to be clear, if it doesn't bother a person then it's clearly a nonissue. But, it's going to impact different people in different ways. Giving it a "*shrug* that's life" reaction is rather odd. That's like saying people shouldn't be upset that an Ewok died to an AT-ST blast in ROTJ. After all, that's war, right?

I've seen so many reactions (not necessarily here but elsewhere online) where people have said, "bro, it's just a TV show, who cares? Baby Yoda's just a puppet! The eggs weren't real! Get over it!"

Well, I'm already "over it", but that's not the point. The point is, am I not allowed to engage in the show on its intended level? I'm not allowed to be involved in the story or have an emotional reaction to the dramatics?

Um, why the fuck are you watching TV/movies/theater/reading books, etc, then, if you don't get invested in what you're consuming? Are you really incapable of understanding how storytelling works?

For pretty colors and lights, I recommend a kaleidoscope.

IT’S BOSS TIME!!!

Very enjoyable episode. Loved the “landing” sequence at the beginning. Felt like something from a cartoon. :)
It was nice to see Bo Katarn again and finally get an explanation for the “keep your helmet” rule he’s been following while others aren’t.
So the rumours are true and Ashoka Tano will indeed be appearing in this show. It’ll be interesting to see how she reacts to the child.

Such a fun episode that Clone Wars and Rebels fans will like. I'm assuming the other woman is supposed to be Sabine but I'm sure her name is never actually said. Also the line about who the group 'The Mandalorian' is apart of goes back to the Clone Wars series for those that can remember.

I thought Sasha was Sabine as well but apparently Sabine is supposed to Look Asian. You would never guess that from watching Rebels though.

I hope he is or I cannot take him seriously ever again. The plot FINALLY took a few steps forward and The Clone Wars/Rebels/Mandalorian seamlessly crossed over into each other's territory. I was quite happy after 2 weeks of side quests and no forward progress in finding the Jedi.

The only silver lining was that they got back on track with the main plot (slightly.)

The rest was so unbelievably boring.

^ Cool. So you don't need to comment till next week then.

Hopefully Ahsoka shows up next week and not the week after.
I wouldn't be surprised if she just shows up in the last 10 seconds or something. But fingers crossed you never know.

It's awesome they got Katee Sackhoff to play "herself" but I wonder why they couldn't that for Ashley Eckstein/Ahsoka. I guess we'll soon see how it turns out.

ps. Like all 3 this season, loved the episode

There are 29 or 30 years between the end of the Clone Wars and this episode. That's a lot of time for someone to lose a family heirloom.

Besides the Moff, Bo was the last person in possession of the Darksaber at around 2 bby. So about 11 years prior to this episode.

My guess is that he pillaged the Darksaber during the Siege of Mandalore, realizing it was a symbol of planetary unity and knowing that depriving the surviving Mandalorians of the weapon would be a demoralizing force allowing the Empire to press its boot down even harder. It became a souvenir of his repression and a point of pride.

Kind of how Nazis pillaged famous art from occupied countries and kept it as their own personal possessions. Spoils of war and designed in part to remind the oppressed peoples who was their new ruler.
