Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

Apparently we shouldn't react to the Child but should be excited over random Clone Wars and Rebels references.
I wouldn't call the first live action appearance of a major recurring character from Clone Wars and Rebels, who also has direct connections to Mandalore and the Darksaber, is a hell of a lot more than a random Clone Wars and Rebels reference.
By Asia, Americans usually mean China, of course. Frankly, I don't give a fig about the casting.
I don't think this is true at all, I think at this point the vast majority of Americans are aware that Asia is more than just China. Despite what it might look like, not all Americans are idiots.
Really enjoyed this one. It was nice to get a happy ending for Frog Lady and her husband.
I've always like the Mon Calamari and the Quarrens, so I was pretty happy the whole planet was almost all those two races.
I loved seeing Bo-Katan, I was surprised how directly they recreated her look from Clone Wars and Rebels. I expected them to come up with a new look for her.
It was great to finally see them address the helmet issue. I never thought they'd actually acknowledge that it was different from what we saw in TCW and Rebels.
Was the other woman with Bo-Katan the one in the cloak watching Din and Baby Yoda after they landed or was that someone else?
Nice to get some real movement on the story arc.
So it sounds like we might see Ahsoka pretty soon, really looking forward to it.

I wonder if Ashley will still voice Ashoka. It’ll be weird hearing another voice out of her.

When referencing "Asian" as an ethnic group, I think it's safe to assume most western people would generally picture East Asians. Yes by dint of sheer population and landmass that would probably imply "mostly Chinese" but also Korean, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese, Mongolian and a whole bunch of others in that part of the world.

That said (and I may be misremembering here) I think they've said back when Rebels was on the air that the intent for Sabine and her family was for them to look Japanese, specifically. So that's probably going to dictate any casting for a live action appearance.

Fine, not random.

But, again, it's there to generate and emotional reaction, which, to both mine and @Crewman6 point is that audience members are going to have emotional reactions presented fictional materials, something for which was being maligned for daring to feel in response to the Child eating eggs.

Weirder still to cast Rosario Dawson and then dub over her.

Katee Sackhoff is 40, so she's not that far off from that age. Maybe Mandalorian's age slower than humans, or she just looks young for her age.

I know this wasn't directed at me, but just to be clear I have no problem with people having an emotional reaction to Baby Yoda eating the eggs, I was just caught off guard by how strongly negative those reactions were.

Yeah, I really can't see them going to the trouble of casting someone as highish profile as Rosario Dawson, and then dub over her voice.
I mean in the audio options. Would be a nice feature.
I really can't see them doing this, it would just be way to much trouble to go through just to please a few fans who got their undies in a bunch over the original casting rumors. If they wanted The Mandalorian version of Ahsoka to sound like Ashley Eckstein they would have just cast Ashley Eckstein.

I am not. I personally appreciated the reactions, because it shows some measure of investment in the setting. I love see the variety of reactions, especially given my own view that Dyn and the Child are the least interesting aspects of this series (thus far).

If she was 20 in her first appearance, she'd be 50. That's plausible-ish, I suppose, but you have to stretch and assume she was as young as possible at the outset. But Mandalorians are humans! They're not a race/species.

Total agreement!

LMAO the unintentional water landing :D or the Squid-thing out of the soup.
This show has lots of fun humor!

I don't care, mind or know much about the "lore" in Mandalore or more precisely Star Wars, so while others are jumping of joy with animated to live action character reveals, I'm just along for the fun ride. the conclusion however is the same: Jetpack people are awesome (so far).

If you do the math, Bo Katan is probably in her 50's, maybe even early 50's since her being a child at the time would partially explain why she wasn't (by implication) on the run with Satine, Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan. There's still a massive chunk of her story that's yet to be told and I'm honestly surprised there hasn't been *something* that dived into it after all these years.

While it'd be disingenuous to say Katee Sackhoff hasn't aged in the decade since BSG went off the air, at the same time I can't see her looking all that different in another decade, so I totally buy her as a 50 year old. Also consider, Bo Katan would have led a VERY active lifestyle and is a veteran of several wars (depending on how you count it), so aside from staying physically fit her whole adult life, she could have spent a LOT of time in bacta tanks over the years (one assumes it's restorative properties extends to ageing) and have more than a few cybernetic replacement parts...and it's not like we've never heard of a Mando colouring her hair before.
