Spoilers The Mandalorian season 2 discussion

That's still very rumor filled, since whatever spoilers in season two haven't sprung yet.

I would assume an Ahsoka and Rex spin off would happen before a Boba Fett one.

Well, that was fairly entertaining, if somewhat pointless.

But it was also incredibly disgusting. I officially loathe Baby Yoda now.

That final scene where he's sneaked one last egg :)

I knew exactly what was going to come out of those eggs in the ice cave the moment I laid eyes on them.

Very entertaining episode although one which didn't really add anything to the main story. The depiction of the new republic is one I sorely missed seeing in the sequel trilogy.

I mean I enjoyed it..............but nothing of note happened, that I could tell.

I mean, you're not being forced to watch it.
It's more the direction (or potential direction) that bothers me. The obsessive nature over Mandalorians for the past several episodes released with this show and Clone Wars and now wanting to create a "Mandalorian franchise" is just tiresome. I guess this is how people feel when they hear others say Star Wars is all about the Jedi. Now it feels all about Mandalorians.

It took a season to become official? :vulcan:

On this point I do agree. Latner's New Republic guard was the highlight of last season for me.

Fun but pointless ep. This might be blasphemy, but I'm finding Discovery far more interesting and entertaining this season so far than Mando.

We got no real storyline movement, but the episode was still pretty good.
I liked the frog lady, and we did get some funny stuff with Baby Yoda.

I don't know why anyone would be surprised that the first few episodes are stand alone. That was how it worked last season.

Well, nope, the first episode of the show wasn't "standalone", as it set up the entire series and the overall "story" (so much as there is an overall story.) And those threads were directly picked up on in Episode 3 and later in 7 and 8.

It was kind of fucked up that Baby Yoda kept eating those eggs. I saw it coming a mile away, but hoped the music wasn’t just misleading me. Also, NR pilots continue to be a bit dickish on this show (though I suppose they were less dickish in retrospect, last time, if there was security footage of the guard being killed. I thought it was weird before that they fired on the hostage beacon of the guy they were trying to rescue, but if they already knew he was dead, blowing up the criminal space station feels less like sloppy storytelling), though I guess if I had to go on a high-speed canyon chase, an exhaustive search through a frozen hell’s cape, and then machine-gun a bunch of spider-monsters just to ask a few questions about a murdered prison guard from a witness to close off the file, I wouldn’t be feeling too magnanimous, either.

Was this the first time we heard “And also with you” in response to “May the Force be with you”? Are Star Wars people canonically space-Catholics?

I think it may be, but I'm not 100% on that. They could also be Space-Methodist.

I knew someone would say that, I was posting in a hurry. My point was that after the initial set up there was a bunch of stand alone stuff before the Arc continued in the back half. Now that there is no need for set up, I'm not surprised that we went strait into stand alones.
